Took my Jeep to find the source of a mysterious noise out of the rear end. They said the right rear wheel bearing was bad, and the left rear was starting to make noise also. They then recommended to change the front bearings also.
I told them I would do the rear only. Then they said a wheel alignment was recommended (for the rear wheels?) at the same time. The quote for repair came in at over $1,500! I said that it was too expensive. They dropped the price $100 out of the kindness of their heart. I told them I would think about it.
I took the vehicle for a second opinion. The wheel bearing job would have been $550, and that it would not require an alignment. I agreed to get the work done. I got a call later in the day to say that the only problem they found was that the lug nuts were loose on the right rear wheel!
I thanked them with a huge tip. And RGV Tire Pros will never see me again!
Oh yeah, they charged me a $139 diagnostic fee.
