  I had a really disappointing experience with Safelite. I dropped my car off around 7:50 AM on Saturday morning for a windshield replacement and received a call around 9:40 AM saying it was ready. I arrived back around 10:15 AM, but there was no one at the front counter. There were two technicians outside working on cars. I made eye contact with both of them, but neither one came inside or acknowledged me. I waited and waited. Then another customer came in because he was having an issue with a previous repair, and one of the technicians immediately came inside to help him. About five minutes later, the employee who normally works at the front counter finally came in with a laptop. I explained that I had been standing there waiting for my keys. Since everything was already paid for, I told him I was honestly close to just leaving without them. He apologized and said Saturdays are busy and things can get confusing. I understand being busy, but that doesn't excuse leaving a customer standing at the counter for about 30 minutes without acknowledging them or simply saying, "We'll be right with you." I finally got my car around 10:50 AM—about 35 minutes after I arrived, despite being told it was ready at 9:40 AM. The windshield replacement itself may have been fine, but the customer service was extremely disappointing. Waiting that long just to get my keys after being told my car was ready, while employees walked by and didn't acknowledge me, made me feel completely ignored. The apology also didn't feel very sincere. Safelite needs to do better with customer service, especially when customers are already waiting at the counter.

  I’ve never had to get a windshield replaced and I’m thankful my insurance company referred me to Safelite. I set everything up on my phone, took all of 5 mins and when the wrong windshield was sent to me (not Safelite’s fault), they immediately called me to explain what I needed and set a new appointment. Very smooth solution to an unexpected inconvenience.
