This location is the truth! The owners are great people and the workers in the shop know what they are doing. Great shout out to keith, who showed up and showed out!! My car wouldn’t turn on, I had it towed there and within the day…had my car back! This location is honest and the people are experienced. Most shops you take your car to, you feel disgusted, worried and over charged. Not here!!! I plan to return and repeat!!! Warranty guaranteed

Keith and the entire staff at Grease Monkey, Manvel were true professionals! Had my breaks done and few weeks back, I was hearing some squeaking after a few days. Brought the car back, Keith and the team were so thorough, they took their time to ensure the breaks were done properly.

This Grease Monkey is my go to location for both of my vehicles. Obviously, any mechanical automotive work is going to be expensive in most cases, but feeling good about the person doing the work is priceless. These guys do good work. Ive had everything from basic oil changes to suspension work done here and the quality of work has always been better than I expected. I recently had a suspension and front end alignment issue that required alot of work. Although it was going to be expensive, these guys did the job and did it right. They even ran into an issue that required an additional $45 part to finish the job and rather than call and try to squeeze more money from me, they paid for it out of their own pocket to be able to complete the job correctly. That is what I consider above and beyond!! My truck is now riding smoother than ever and is a pleasure to drive. I have never experienced a bad experience here. I assure you, they are all doing their best to fix your issues and they are not out to rob you. Stuff is expensive these days...it is what it is. But quality work and customer service is priceless. You get both at this location.

I took my truck to Grease Monkey after hearing a whining/hovering noise coming from the driver-side wheel well. The noise changed with RPM, and there were no check engine lights or stored codes. Since I didn’t have time to diagnose it myself, I decided to try this shop based on their good Yelp reviews. I went in on Saturday, April 4th. The staff was friendly and greeted me right away. I explained the issue clearly and also mentioned that I had just done an oil change and brought the oil filter with me so they could inspect it for any signs of internal engine damage. Later that day, I received a call saying the noise was coming from the valve train. They asked for approval to remove the driver-side valve cover on Monday for further inspection, and I agreed. On Tuesday, I was told they heard a small noise from cylinder 2 and diagnosed it as a rod bearing issue. I specifically asked about the condition of the oil, and they said it looked fine and that I could continue driving it. When I picked up my truck, I was charged $240 total ($120 for a diagnostic scan and $120 to remove the valve cover). What concerned me was that my oil filter was still untouched in the bag. I went back inside to ask how they checked for metal in the oil without inspecting the filter. They then offered to check it after I brought it up. Also they were supposed to do my yearly inspection which they didn’t do. Once I got home, I decided to do a quick basic check myself. I removed the belts and ran the engine, the noise completely disappeared. That led me to the actual issue: a bad vacuum pump. I replaced it myself, and the noise is now completely gone. Overall, the staff was polite, but the diagnosis I received was incorrect and led me to believe I had a serious internal engine issue when it turned out to be something much simpler. It’s frustrating to pay a diagnostic fee that cost more than the actual repair, especially when a basic check could have identified the problem much quicker. Response to owner: I want to clarify a few important points regarding my visit. Reply to owner The knocking/ticking noise mentioned was never my concern, nor was it something I experienced or reported. The reason I brought my truck in was specifically for a loud “UFO-like” whining noise that changed with RPM. Regarding the video and picture you sent—I didn’t receive those until two days after I had already picked up my truck. At the time of the diagnostic, the filter had not been checked while the vehicle was in your possession. I had to go back in to ask if you can check the filter, in pictures I received the inside was clean. Also, the short video showing something shiny appears misleading. The object shown was sitting on top of a liquid, whereas my filter had already been fully drained when opened. What was shown looks more like metal shavings from the process of cutting the filter open, not something that was actually inside the filter during operation.
