  My car would not start I got a jump and went straight to Auto Zone they tested my battery it was bad (knew it would be) and I bought a new battery they replaced it now I am back on the go. My father has been going to Auto Zone since I was a kid and I will continue to also.

  Ever since AutoZone made its way to Houston in the 90’s they have always been my go to auto parts store. In January of this year I bought a motorcycle battery from AutoZone. It came with a 6 month warranty. I’ve been riding motorcycles since I was 12 years old, this year I turned 60. Every time I replaced a battery they have always lasted me over 3 years. I did not think twice about the battery’s warranty when I purchased it. As always, there is a first for everything. The battery went completely dead on me on the 8th month. I returned the battery to this store, a different AutoZone from which I originally purchased it from. The sales person looking up the date of purchase informed me that the warranty had expired. Needless to say I was frustrated that the battery was completely dead two months later after a 6 month warranty. I felt like it would be hard as an owner to want to carry a product as important as a battery if that product was not reliable and up to good standards. Unfortunately for me the manager of the store was not present that night. The sales person who was working with me did not have the authority to make refund decisions on an expired warranty. I went ahead and purchased another battery from them because I was not in any kind of position to negotiate anything. Still feeling frustrated after installing my battery, all the thoughts running through my head of high prices, cost of living, products being sold nation wide not being up to standards I had to write AutoZone and vent my grievances. I was not expecting a response, it’s very rare in this age and time now. To make a long story short I was contacted by AutoZone. I was informed to come back to the store and collect my refund. I went there on October 7th and talked with the manager James over the issue. James informed me he was on vacation that day I came into the store to return the battery only to find out the warranty had expired. Even though the warranty was expired two months earlier, he went ahead and honored the warranty. AutoZone did not have to do this and I will admit I was surprised by the decision. One thing I will say, AutoZones decision to honor that warranty when they did not have to, not only did they confirmed my belief in them as being the go to auto parts store of Houston but they also created another positive source of personal experience for advertisement that’s not going to go away anytime soon.   James and the team that helped me fix my car were absolutely amazing made a sucky task a fun ordeal and stayed out there helping me every step of the way
