My brakes were making a terrible noise so I dropped my car off and the guys at mavis checked it all out and said that really everything looked fine and if the noise bothered me I could have something smoothed out but it’s not something they do. But he said they would clean and spray whatever it was that needed to be smoothed. When I came to get my car they charged me nothing!?!? No labor no nothing!! Super helpful and knowledgable. Would definitely go back and trust the advice they give! They are not trying to get you to pay up for unnecessary things! My new favorite find!

Mikey was amazing. They are so fast and friendly, he came out and greeted me before I even had to walk in and we got things sorted in minutes. The tire repair is stupidly cheap and I got high quality electric vehicle tire replacements for half what I expected with a warranty. Every time we use them it's great. Only place I'll go for tires and I'm going to use them for breaks once I need that.

I would give a 0 stars if possible. Took my vehicle over because the alternator was going bad as the battery was only a week old. They said they'd check the charging system and contact us.
They couldn't get it started with a jump box as they said it was an old box and we said use jumper cables and they didn't have a clue.
They said they couldn't check the alternator because they didn't know how. We finally called them, as they didn't call us with any updates.
Now we have to get a tow truck to move it to some real mechanics.
These have to be the old NTB mechanics as they're nothing more than oil and tire Rockies. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone or even let them change my oil or tires.

Drivers needing new tires in the Kemah area will find Mavis Tires & Brakes a mixed bag, it is capable work undercut by slow service. First impressions are positive: the recently remodeled building is clean, modern, and more comfortable to wait in than the average tire shop, which sets an expectation the rest of the visit doesn’t fully meet.
The service itself covered the essentials. Customers can get popular truck sizes handled in house; in this case two LT305/55R20 tires mounted on a GMC Sierra. The installation work was done correctly, and the tires have performed well since, although I had to come back in for them to fix my alignment, so on the mechanical side the shop does deliver. Where the experience falls short is time and communication. The job took three and a half hours for a two-tire install which is far longer than buyers would reasonably expect. The customer service did little to ease the wait. Staff gave no updates throughout, and the man handling the front desk came across as rude and visibly annoyed in every interaction observed. For a shop that clearly invested in its space, the front of house experience has not caught up. On price and value, the total came to $550.63 for two tires, which is in line with what large truck tires cost but not a bargain, but not expensive either. Given the long wait and lukewarm service, the value feels fair rather than great. Expectations were partially met, the product and installation were solid, but the overall visit did not match the polished setting.
The pros are reliable installation, correct sizing, and a clean, updated waiting area. The cons are the slow turnaround and poor customer service. Would users repurchase? Possibly, but only if no faster option were nearby. This shop works for drivers who prioritize getting the job done right over getting it done quickly, but those who value speed and attentive service may want to compare elsewhere first.

I had a flat tire today and stopped at Apollo Tire hoping for some help. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from the moment I walked in. I felt like I was being treated as a sale instead of a customer. They wouldn't repair my tire, told me they didn't have a used tire in my size, but immediately offered to sell me a brand-new one instead.
I explained that money was tight and that I simply needed to get home. I even asked if they could put a little air in the tire so I could make it safely, and the response I received made me feel like I was asking for too much.
That's when I called Mavis.
Mikey answered the phone, listened to my situation, and immediately said, "Come on over—we'll help you." When I arrived, he came right out, inspected the tire, and found that it could be repaired. He quoted me $35 to patch it, which was already a huge relief. Then he surprised me by offering a brand-new tire for only a little more. I couldn't believe it. Instead of trying to squeeze every dollar out of me, he looked for the solution that made the most sense for my situation.
While they had my truck on the lift, they also noticed my control arms were loose and gave me a fair estimate for that repair as well—no pressure, just honest information.
Mikey and his team reminded me what real customer service looks like. They treated me with respect, compassion, and honesty. They saw me as a person, not a dollar sign.
They've earned a customer for life. I've already recommended them to several people, and I'll continue to do so. Thank you, Mikey, for taking care of me when I really needed it.
