I had a very disappointing experience with this dealership. I had been communicating with a salesperson and manager via email about purchasing a new vehicle and made it very clear from the beginning that I did not want to spend more than $47,000 out the door.
The salesperson told me that budget was reasonable and doable. Before my appointment, I received a quote from another local dealership for the same vehicle at $47,500 OTD, or around $30,000 OTD after factoring in my trade-in. I emailed this dealership to cancel my appointment because I didn’t want to drive 40+ minutes if they couldn’t beat the offer or didn’t have the inventory we wanted.
A manager emailed me back saying they could possibly make me a better deal but would need to inspect my trade-in first. Fair enough. Based on that, I rescheduled and drove out with my husband.
We arrived late due to traffic and ended up working with a different salesperson than the one I had been emailing. The salesperson we worked with was very nice and personable. From the beginning, we again made it clear that our maximum budget was $47,000 OTD and that the only reason we were there was to see if they could beat the offer we already had.
After evaluating my trade-in, they presented us with an offer that was significantly worse than the other dealership’s. I then asked them to remove the trade-in from the equation completely and just show me their best OTD price on the new vehicle.
That’s when the manager, Danielle, came over and immediately started talking about monthly payments. I specifically asked for the actual OTD price, and she told me $53,000. I explained that the exact same vehicle, priced around $46,900, had been quoted to me at $47,500 OTD by another dealership.
Danielle tried to explain the difference by saying the other dealership was factoring in my trade-in, which lowered the sales tax. That is technically true, but the difference in taxes was about $1,000—not $6,000. When I pointed this out, her attitude completely changed. She became rude and condescending and spoke to my husband and me as if we didn’t understand basic math. She continued insisting that the tax savings explained the price difference when it very clearly did not.
The actual issue was all the additional fees this dealership had added, turning a roughly $46,000 vehicle into a $53,000 OTD purchase. This was especially frustrating because I had repeatedly communicated my budget before driving more than 40 minutes to the dealership and was specifically told that my budget was reasonable and doable.
We contacted the previous dealership and were able to get the exact same vehicle for $48,200 OTD without a trade-in.
If you’re shopping for a new vehicle, I strongly recommend Family Toyota of Arlington instead. They were far more straightforward about pricing, treated us with respect, and gave us a significantly better deal without the runaround.
Edit: I emailed one of the managers after leaving the dealership noting my negative experience and he never got back to me. I called, just like I was asked to do, and the managers never got back to me. Do not waste your time at this dealership. They do not care to actually make things right.

I honestly can’t say enough good things about Nic. He made the entire car-buying process easier than I ever expected. From the very beginning, he was patient, straightforward, and genuinely cared about helping me get the right car instead of just making a sale. He answered every question I had, kept me updated every step of the way, and made sure I was comfortable with every decision.
You can tell Nic truly cares about his customers. He went above and beyond to make everything smooth and stress-free, and because of him, I drove away feeling confident and excited about my purchase. Customer service like his is rare these days, and it’s the kind of experience that keeps people coming back.
If you’re buying a car, do yourself a favor and ask for Nic—you won’t regret it. He deserves every bit of recognition for the way he treats his customers. In my opinion, Nic has more than earned a promotion. He’s an incredible salesman, an even better person, and a huge asset to the dealership. Thank you again, Nic!
BUYERS BEWARE!!!!
I was fully prepared to purchase a vehicle from this dealership until I experienced one of the most unprofessional conversations I've ever had with a sales manager.
I live several hours away, so before making the drive I asked for something completely reasonable: an honest, itemized estimate that included the vehicle, an extended warranty, and GAP coverage. I wanted to know if the numbers fit my budget before driving to the dealership or allowing my credit to be pulled.
Instead, I received a pricing worksheet that already included over $2,000 in dealer add-ons that I never requested. Those unnecessary add-ons dramatically inflated the selling price of the vehicle before taxes, title, registration, an extended warranty, or GAP were even added. By the time everything was financed, those add-ons would have cost me thousands more over the life of the loan because I would have been paying interest on them as well.
When I called to ask why these items had been included, the sales manager's response was simply, "That's just what we do."
I explained that I wasn't trying to negotiate. I was trying to avoid wasting everyone's time because I live out of town. I wanted transparent numbers so I could make an informed decision.
Instead of answering my questions professionally, his attitude became increasingly rude and dismissive. He insisted that I needed to come into the dealership if I wanted better numbers.
When I explained that wasn't possible and that I wasn't comfortable moving forward without honest pricing, he told me, "If you don't like the numbers, then don't buy the car." He then ended the conversation.
Think about that for a moment.
A serious buyer asked for transparency before making a long trip, and the sales manager's response was essentially, "Take it or leave it."
After the call, I started reading the dealership's reviews. To my surprise, I found multiple customers describing experiences involving unexpected dealer add-ons, price increases, and poor communication. Had I read those reviews beforehand, I never would have contacted this dealership.
Transparency shouldn't be negotiable.
Professionalism shouldn't disappear because a customer asks questions.
And no customer should feel pressured into driving hours to a dealership just to find out what the real numbers are.
I took my business elsewhere, and I strongly encourage anyone considering this dealership to review the paperwork carefully, question every charge, and do your research before making the trip!

My moms experience at Shottenkirk Toyota Granbury was outstanding from beginning to end. I cannot say enough about Blake and Pat. Rather than treating us like just another customer or steering us toward the easiest sale, Blake took the time to truly listen, understand our circumstances, and advocate for us throughout the entire process.
Pat was equally exceptional. He worked diligently behind the scenes, explored every available option, and ultimately secured financing that other institutions were unable to provide. At no point did we feel pressured or rushed. Instead, we were treated with honesty, professionalism, respect, and genuine care. What impressed us most was that they both respected my mother’s preferences. Rather than trying to sell us whatever happened to be on the lot, he searched for the exact vehicle she wanted and focused on finding the right solution instead of simply making a sale. Buying a vehicle can often be stressful, but Blake and Pat turned it into one of the most positive dealership experiences we’ve ever had. Their knowledge, integrity, communication, and commitment to customer service were evident every step of the way. If you’re looking for a dealership that values relationships over transactions and employees who truly go the extra mile for their customers, I highly recommend asking for Blake and Pat at Shottenkirk Toyota Granbury. They have earned our trust, our appreciation, and our highest recommendation.
Thank you both for making what seemed like an impossible situation possible.
Well after years of seeing poor reviews. I officially agree to those reviews. Tacking on 3k worth of extra cost for window tint and ceramic coating. Looked at 3 vehicles. All 3 had stock tint and none of the 3 had a ceramic coating on them. I wanted to give them a chance. Brought my brother here for his first time purchase. Finally by the 3rd vehicle got it within the price range until they tacked on those fees. 3 of the tires were completely bald with lumps on the inward side. Wasn’t willing to replace tires and take off those insane extra charges. Making a 14k car end up being 20k 400 a month for 72 months totally almost 30k on a 14k car. While I was sitting there thinking about what to do or how to offer a different deal that we would consider. Manager got an attitude and tossed the paper at his employee and said “let me know when he “me” can make a decision with attitude and walked off. I don’t see how you can get away with charging 2k of that 3k for ceramic coating, paint correction and window tint if the car being purchased has none of that. Just sell the damn car for the price you have listed. Add TT&L and let’s make a deal. It’s simple. If dealerships would go back to this concept. They’d sell a lot more vehicles. It would be a smaller profit but you sales would go through the roof. Just poor business.
