  Called ahead to check their policy for using a debit card. Customer service and the website state the same thing, bring 2 proof of residence when using debit, such as a lease or utility bill. We brought both. After making the hour and a half ride to the closest location, we met with Victor, who’s name comes up quite a bit in the negative reviews if you do your research, and we were told a second photo ID was required. This is not on the website nor are you told this by customer service. I have called 3 other locations about this since returning home and all have said the same, you can bring utility bills or a lease. I also called this location and I pretended to be a potential renter and was told by Victor that I could bring the alternative items instead of a second ID. Not sure why we were refused the day we went in. Also the reviews don’t lie, this location will tell you that they don’t have your car available if you are renting from one of the more affordable tiers. They will have to upgrade you but it will be an extra charge. It states on their website that if your vehicle isn’t available, they will get you in the next available one at no charge. Finally, we get ready to leave with no car and we’re told that the manager will have to refund us and the manager isn’t there. We will get an email within 24 hours. It’s been 3 days. No email. We have zero paperwork to show we are being refunded, and yes we did ask. I’m guessing we won’t be getting a refund and that we will have to call and reverse the charge from the bank, which we will do Monday morning. I’m also guessing that Victor thinks we won’t return to that location because we live an hour and a half away. He would be wrong. Don’t rent from here. They are just another typical scam rental agency. Stick with Enterprise and Hertz etc.

  I’m a Platinum member with SIXT and have rented from this location multiple times, including a month-long rental recently. During my previous rental, another employee upgraded me to a BMW coupe and the experience was great. This time, I prepaid for a VW Jetta or similar vehicle, but when I arrived Victor told me he had to ‘upgrade’ me into a Ford Escape instead. I asked if I could simply remain in the BMW since I was already familiar with the vehicle and had just driven it recently, but Victor claimed the BMW needed an oil change even though it only had around 3,000 miles on it. He then told me I could pay significantly more money to keep the BMW and also mentioned that he planned to tell his manager that another employee previously gave me a complimentary upgrade. The conversation became uncomfortable and unprofessional very quickly. What really disappointed me was the attitude and customer service. Instead of trying to help or find a solution for a loyal customer, Victor became confrontational and even threatened to cancel my rental. He also stated that he didn’t care if I left a bad review. To make matters worse, the Ford Escape I was given was in poor condition compared to what I normally receive from SIXT. The vehicle have cracks in the windshield, dirty interior, an out-of-state tag, and even appeared damaged on the rear exterior. As someone who rents frequently and pays for long-term rentals, I expected a much smoother and more professional experience. I’ve rented with other companies before, and when extending or renting again shortly after, they usually try to keep customers in the same vehicle for convenience and customer satisfaction. I’ve generally had positive experiences with SIXT, which is why this interaction stood out so negatively.
