I try to use Sixt car rental where ever I travel. Recently I rented a Toyota at the Houston airport. I used the fast pickup system that I thought worked very well. I opted not to take the $13.99 a day toll package because I didn't think I was going through that many tolls. I had the car for a week and the total would have been over $90.00. I knew I wouldn't rack up $90.00 in tolls. I thought about that when I picked up the car and questioned the person in the garage about the toll charges. I was told that if I went through tolls I would just be billed for the tolls. That worked for me. When I got the final settlement, I was charged $35.00 for tolls. Along with $82.00 in administrative fees. When I got the bill I called the 888 number. Ui started with automated system. After that 3 different transfers. After 35 minutes I got some guy that told me there was no one in the toll department to take my call. I was told he couldn't do anything about it. That was after I told him that their employee gave me the wrong information. He told me I should have read the contract. I explained that perhaps their employees fread the contract so when you ask them a question, they would know. Besides that the car was dirty as well with bug marks over the front. When I pointed that out she pretty much shrugged her shoulders. I always used Sixt in that past. I always got good service and nice cars. This was very disappointing. In the future, I will be checking other rental agency's.

Wow! This was my first time renting a car from IAH and my first experience with SIXT, and let me tell you, I was very pleased from beginning to end!
It started with Emma Jackson, who was such a sweetheart and gave my daughter and me such a warm welcome to Houston. She was friendly, informative, and helped me understand all the different options without making anything feel complicated or overwhelming.
I also really liked the whole setup for getting to the rental car. It was so neat and easy! The entire experience was smooth, convenient, and honestly much better than I expected for my first time renting at IAH.
I will definitely be using SIXT again whenever I come to Houston. Thank you, Emma, and thank you SIXT for making our arrival such a wonderful experience!

Loved the front desk employee who checked me in and helped me out. He even upgraded my car for me for free. I don’t remember his name since I was in a rush for my cousin’s graduation but I wish him nothing but the best,
if I didn’t have to experience the check out with Minerva I would have rated y’all 5 stars . Here is what happened: I just returned my vehicle and when I did the employee, Minerva , stated there was a new damage and circled it. I told her that damage was there prior to me picking up the car. She acknowledged that and said she had to document it. When she asked for me to sign I asked her “What am I signing” and she said “Just you brought the car back with a full tank”. While I reached Bush security I saw the signing was actually the acknowledgment of the “new” damage. I’m upset that 1) she lied 2) she didn’t state on the acknowledgment that this was a preexisting dent. Based on your guy’s reviews people warned others how you guys continuously falsify wrongful preexisting damages .
Because of this, before I drove off with the car I did take multiple photos of dents and scratches . I have attached the photo of the dent Minerva stated wasn’t documented but actually was .
The issue was finally resolved in my favor, but I’m truly upset that I was the scapegoat for preexisting damages. I have never experienced something like that even with the lower rated car rental companies.

I rented a BMW X1 for 4 days while in Houston. I prepaid in advance including insurance to cover the car.($387). When I arrived, the agent informed me that the car wasn’t available and was going to upgrade me to a Volvo XC60. I did prepay for fuel($47.99) and I paid for a toll pass($42). I was told that a $200 deposit will be held on my card. No problem. I looked at my receipt and this agent charged me over $100 for a vehicle (choice) upgrade and over $200 for piece of mind insurance. My total came up to $712.00. What? I prepaid already. Why am I being charged this extra stuff. Plus the Volvo was the same or similar to the X1. They would not review and reverse the charges. They told me that they will have to pull the tapes. For what? Sir/ma’am, I didn’t steal anything. And I still haven’t been refunded my deposit. It’s been almost 2 weeks now. I felt this transaction was very deceptive by this young man at Sixt. My first time using this brand and probably never will again. Shame on Sixt inside IAH airport in Houston.

I had an extremely disappointing and concerning experience with SIXT at Houston IAH.
I had a prepaid reservation through Expedia. Because of an issue with my Mexican digital driver’s license, we proactively asked whether the reservation could be changed to my father, who had his valid physical driver’s license. He had accidentally left his passport in another terminal, so we asked whether he could retrieve it or temporarily show a digital copy.
Instead of simply explaining the applicable policy or allowing us to resolve the documentation issue, the representative accused us of trying to do something illegal and refused us service. We were openly asking how to comply with SIXT’s requirements — not trying to circumvent them.
As Mexican travelers, the way we were treated also left us seriously concerned that discriminatory assumptions may have influenced the interaction. Being accused of illegal conduct without any reasonable basis was humiliating and completely inappropriate.
There is an enormous difference between saying, “Unfortunately, our policy does not allow us to complete the rental with these documents,” and accusing customers of attempting something illegal.
The experience was humiliating, unnecessary, and completely below the level of professionalism I would expect from an international rental-car company operating at a major U.S. airport.
I have already raised the matter directly with SIXT and expect the company to review what happened at its IAH counter, including the circumstances surrounding the refusal of service and the employee’s conduct.
Policies can be strict. Documentation requirements can be non-negotiable. Treating customers with dignity and respect should be equally non-negotiable.
