I don’t know where to begin, but I am very Grateful for the excellent customer service from this rental company. I returned my rental vehicle on Sunday and now today, Tuesday morning I realized I forgot my iPad In the vehicle. With the help of the manager, Danny at the location here in Houston, Texas at the Bush airport He was able to contact the next manager up to get assistance to locate it and it was found And it has been returned. This is my first time renting from this company and they now have my business for my next rental. Siri, please with the customer service from all the staff here at the Houston location at the Bush airport thank you so much

I went to rent a RAV4 with great reviews. When I got there, they only had an “upgrade” Volkswagen SUV available for free. I noticed the other staff at SIXT were more than willing to show you where to go by getting off of their desk and walking with you to the car location. When I asked this representative, he simply stayed sitting and proceeded to tell me the same directions even after asking him nicely to show me directions by guiding me by foot. I told him that this was rude and I made my way upstairs. As I got to the car, it smelled like someone had been smoking weed and cigarettes in it. I was about to go downstairs and tell him, worried that they may not give me a full refund. He made his way upstairs to the rental car and told me that he talked to his manager and had made the decision to cancel my rental and that I will need to do business with another rental company. His manager was standing behind him and did nothing to try and come up with a solution where both parties would be happy in the end. She just said that she could not do anything and that the matter was over. After coming back down to try and find another car rental company, I had to go back down and tell him how petty of a decision this was. However, in the end, I’m very happy I did not end up renting from SIXT.
Additionally, the costs that were estimated to be online were around $160-$170 for a 3 day rental. He ended up charging me around $350 and after I asked him about the extra amount, he told me it’s an industry standard, which is fair, but not all other car rental companies do this. I know this because I rented from enterprise and they did not charge me an extra amount from what the original car rental price should be for the 3 days I planned to rent it.
The SIXT representative did not try to act like he was “serving” me either. When I went to enterprise, they were extremely friendly and transparent and willing to answer my questions happily and thoroughly. When I got up to the car rental, the person told me I could choose any car I want from an entire lot. L SIXT. W Enterprise.

Specifically the airport location. You will have to wait minimum 2 hours to get the car you already pre booked. Then get a run around from 1 of only 2 representatives there. By the time you do get your car it’ll be in a different spot than what they tell you. Ask staff in the garage and they say “just get in any car and go it doesn’t matter” which makes no sense. Had to get in a separate line to find the right car while the group looks through all the cars to find it. We did drop off down by Galveston near Buc-ee’s and that was a smooth return but the airport sucks and wouldn’t use them again.

Worse rental car service ever! Stay away. I called the day before the booking to reconfirm details and it sounded like everything was set. Said they would shuttle us to and from the airport but they did not and I ended up having to take a $40 uber (they weren’t willing to compensate the travel), no people, everything is virtual. The individual I got Roberto, was extremely rude and condescending. He told me I “had” to have all these add-ons such as toll roads and additional insurance on top of the one I purchased, my credit card rental insurance and my personal insurance (I was told to bring it) I was hit with $200USD in additional fees. It would have been cheaper to rent with enterprise.
Update: they didn’t give us the car we booked and gave us a lower, base model Toyota. They also put a $600 hold on my card $200 more than what I was told when I called to confirm the details. They are now texting me as they didn’t properly confirm my details and now reaching out for more information and have not sent a confirmation or contact. Very disappointed and unprofessional.

I am extremely disappointed with the handling of a very serious safety issue by Sixt at the IAH location. A firearm was accidentally left inside a rental vehicle, and instead of treating this as an urgent safety matter, the team showed little to no urgency in helping resolve the situation.
We were informed that the vehicle was on a one-way trip to Dallas, TX, yet no meaningful effort appeared to be made to track down the vehicle, notify the current renters, or ensure the firearm did not end up in the hands of a child or someone else. We contacted customer service multiple times and received no real assistance other than being told to file a lost and found report. We also filed a police report because of how serious this situation is.
This should have immediately been escalated to risk management, and the vehicle should have been flagged or stopped as soon as possible for the safety of the current renters and the public. Instead, the lack of urgency and accountability from Sixt was alarming.
God forbid the current customers are pulled over by law enforcement or accidentally discover the firearm themselves. This situation could have had extremely dangerous consequences, and I am shocked by how casually it was handled. Customer safety should be a top priority, and in this case, it absolutely did not feel that way.
