Our plane was diverted to IAH for a medical emergency, we were to land at Hobby. After sitting for over an hour we decided to deplane and check with Alamo to see if we could change our rental. Jesus Uriosteul quickly put us at ease and changed our rental to pick up at IAH and return to Hobby. He even managed to save us $40+ on our rental!! He was so kind and patient with us and quickly got us on our way. But your employees didn’t stop there, the manager on duty walked us to the line of cars, upgraded us and patiently waited until we were comfortable with our choice. Even Tameka Johnson was kind and patient as she checked us out the exit booth.
Upon returning our vehicle to Hobby Lakesha made our return so easy and greeted us with a warm smile and a friendly “How was your trip?”
We can’t stop singing your praises and telling everyone about our wonderful experience.
Thank you so much!!
I completed to forms online beforehand and we went straight to the cars and choose one from the aisle we were directed to. Then drove out. So fast and simple. The car was almost brand new and drove so well. We ended up with a minivan and it was able to carry the two of us comfortably plus my son’s family as well. Nice to go everywhere together. The seats were easy to use…up and down.
Returning it was simple, we were sent reminders and were able to adjust the return time easily. At drop off we were met by a very friendly and courteous employee. Overall a wonderful experience. We will use Alamo again and highly recommend it to others. Thank you!

My experience with Alamo/National was completely unacceptable and, more importantly, raised serious safety concerns.
When I arrived at the airport, I clearly explained to the staff that I was travelling alone. Despite this, I was given an unnecessarily large vehicle with seating for approximately 10 people. That was already frustrating, but the situation became far worse shortly after I left the airport when the vehicle began experiencing serious mechanical and electrical problems.
It was already past midnight. The vehicle would shut off and then, after some attempts, start again. I was able to continue driving intermittently and eventually made it to my hotel, but the vehicle was clearly unreliable and unsafe. I contacted roadside assistance because I had no confidence that the vehicle would continue operating, but no one answered.
That was an extremely concerning situation. I was alone, it was after midnight, and I had been given a vehicle that could shut down unexpectedly while being driven. The fact that I could occasionally restart it does not make the situation any less serious. Having a vehicle repeatedly turn on and off while trying to reach a safe location was incredibly stressful and dangerous.
The following morning, I called roadside assistance again and this time they answered. I explained what had happened, and I was instructed to drive the vehicle back to the airport and exchange it for another one while it was still drivable. What was never properly addressed, however, was my question about why nobody had answered the night before when I actually needed assistance. I was given no explanation for that failure.
The vehicle was still able to start that morning, so I followed their instruction and drove it back to the airport. The engine warning light remained on and the electrical/mechanical issues continued. I had no way of knowing whether the vehicle would shut down again before I reached the airport, which made the entire drive extremely concerning.
When I arrived at the National/Alamo location, one employee was very kind and professional. Unfortunately, I do not remember his name. He took the vehicle back, provided a credit/discount for the inconvenience, and was himself surprised when I explained that roadside assistance had never answered the previous night. I appreciated the way he handled the situation.
He then provided me with a smaller vehicle that was much more appropriate for one person and my luggage. Unfortunately, even the replacement vehicle had problems. It displayed an oil-change warning throughout the remaining four or five days of my rental, the interior was extremely dirty, and the windshield was so filthy that visibility at night was significantly affected. I ultimately took the rental vehicle to a car wash and had it cleaned myself because I did not feel comfortable continuing to drive it in that condition.
For a major rental company, this entire experience was unbelievable.
I travel frequently and have rented vehicles many times, and I have never experienced anything comparable. My primary concern is not simply the inconvenience. It is the fact that I was provided with a vehicle that appeared to have a serious existing mechanical or electrical issue, repeatedly shut down, and then received no response from roadside assistance when I first tried to obtain help after midnight.
I would be very interested to understand what inspection was completed on that vehicle before it was rented to me, whether there was any previous record of the mechanical or electrical problem, and why roadside assistance was completely unavailable when I attempted to contact them that night.
I do appreciate the employee who assisted me the following morning and the discount that was provided. However, a discount does not erase the seriousness of the safety issues or the failure of roadside assistance.
Unfortunately, based on this experience, this will be my first and last rental with Alamo/National.
This has been the worse experience ever. Our family was waiting for over 45 mins for a car to arrive since check-in. We had to express our concern about the wait multiple times. The employees kept saying that it would arrive any minute during the time. I finally decided to come to talk to the manager, Nicholas with National rental car. He made me feel like that our business is not appreciated and our voice does not matter. I also had to request to speak to a higher management person or a Coorperation direct line. He said that wasn't any person that I could address my concern. The experience has ruined our family vacation and I definitely would not recommend this company to anyone. I thought that it was a chance to try a new rental car company, but it didn't turn out as I expected. I had traveled with enterprise multiple times, but I had no such a terrible experience like this before. I would never forget how I was treated by Nicholas. I wanted to make sure that my voice would be heard.
