- JMJavier MendozaOct 1, 20261.0I’m extremely disappointed with my experience at Advance Auto Parts on 249 and Smiling Wood. I came in because I was having issues with a low battery. The young lady at the counter was incredibly kind and helpful. She tested my battery, gave me the price for a replacement, and explained the installation. So far, the experience was great. She then asked a gentleman named Oscar to come outside and help install the battery. Unfortunately, the experience completely changed from there. Oscar came outside and immediately told me he couldn’t install the battery because of a fuse box. I explained to him that I purchased the battery from this same location and had it installed there before. As a matter of fact, I’ve been coming to this Advance Auto Parts for my car needs because I trusted this location and its service. What makes this even more disappointing is that I wasn’t asking for something unreasonable—I was simply expecting the service I was told was available. After this experience, you have unfortunately lost a customer. I will be sharing my experience with my family and friends, and I will also be sharing it on social media so others can be aware of my experience. The customer service from the young lady was excellent, and I want to make that clear. Unfortunately, the way the situation was handled afterward completely ruined the experience for me. I expected better from a place I’ve trusted with my vehicle needs.

What are the signs of a bad car battery?
Signs of a bad car battery can range from the need for frequent jump starts, slow to start, cranks or clicks but won't start, dash lights work but the vehicle won't start, etc.
How much does a car battery cost?

HOW DO BRAKES WORK?

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
