Great quality work, good communication, fantastic customer service!
It's been a few months since I took my 2000 Excursion to Buck's Transmission. At 240,000 miles, the original 4R100 was beginning to really struggle. I went to pass some on FM1564 and after some very angry transmission noises, it would no long move under its own power.
I called around to find out what my options were, rebuilding, replacing with a rebuilt unit from a vendor, or buying a used transmission and got quotes from a lot of different shops. Most just gave us verbal quotes, but Buck's sent us a detail quote with pricing.
I decided on having the transmission rebuild locally and Bucks had the lowest price. During the entire process, they communicated clearly and frequently, and when the work was done, the price I paid was the exact price that I had been quoted.
They also went over the entire truck and looked for other problems and presented me with quotes to fix some other issues with the vehicle. Of course, after needing to pay for the transmission I was totally broke, but there was no pressure to get anything else done on the vehicle. As the owner told me "no worries, just wanted you to make sure you know what's going on and if you want to come back and get those fixed later, you know the prices."
I've been driving the truck several hundreds of miles each week since the rebuild and with several months and a lot of miles put on the transmission, there have been no issues. Everything shifts perfect and the truck is running and driving great!
Buck's does warranty their work, and if anything goes wrong, all you have to do is bring it back. Overall, I was very pleased with their work and the ease of getting my Excursion back on the road. Of course I wish that it had been a little cheaper, but the prices Buck's gave me are on par with every other shop out there, if not a little cheaper.
If you're looking for a reasonably priced shop that does quality work, Buck's Transmission is the place you want to go!
