Well my rating started out at 5 stars and kept dropping. Here's my experience. I'm a female professional driver, since 2008. I don't often stop at Pilots for personal reasons but it seemed the best option in the area. I pulled in yesterday afternoon to find a clean lot, that didn't smell like urine and was trash free with a decent amount of parking still available for the time of day that I arrived. I was pleased. I shut down for the night and got up early to shower. As stated, I don't often stop at Pilots, so I didn't have available points. I've also had difficulty with the app, because for some reason I have 2 accounts, even though I've reached out to support. So I had to go inside to purchase a shower for $18. I'm Platinum status at the other major place but oh well, it's hot here and I needed a shower. The young man working the service desk, Ronnie, was polite, but acted suspicious of me for purchasing a shower, even though I came prepared with my personal shower bag, clothing, and towel. Besides who uses truck stop towels? If you've been a driver long enough - you know! The shower was cleaner than most and smelled fresh, so again I was happy, but ugh no water pressure and as a lady with long, thick curly hair it took forever to wash my hair. Shower 6 for those wondering. Then the sink was the exact opposite. I turned it on and it shot out soaking me like someone opened a fire hydrant! I was annoyed! I still left a tip for the shower attendant because I feel you should tip if a shower is clean and the attendant has no control over the water situation. I'm old school and shocked how many drivers don't tip anymore. Anyways. After getting ready, I stopped back in the store and grabbed a quick bite to eat. As fate would have it, the same clerk working the service desk waited on me. He wasn't friendly at all. As soon as I paid he ran over to another employee and began a conspiratorial conversation whispering and watching me as I walked out. Then another employee walked out the lot and watched me a little bit as I walked back into the truck lot to my truck. I can only believe they watched me on security cameras as well, which is fine it helped keep me safe, but at the same time I did nothing wrong, but it really made me feel like I was suspected of being a woman other than a driver. I would have rather they asked if I wanted someone to watch me for my safety. Next time, just ask me for ID! Also if he was observant he would have noticed, I flipped my wallet to show my CDL. I worked hard for my CDL-A and have been out here for a long time doing this job. I understand there's not a lot of petite, solo women who are decent looking that are professional drivers but that was insulting. Yet again, another bad experience at a Pilot. Unbelievable.
