I just picked up my third Lexus from Sewell, and there’s a reason I continue to come back. Sewell consistently delivers a level of service that makes the entire car-buying experience feel easy, welcoming, and genuinely enjoyable. From the moment you walk in to the moment you leave with the keys, you feel taken care of, and that consistency has absolutely earned my loyalty over the years. A huge part of that experience for me has been Callie, who has helped me with all three of my Lexus leases. She’s fantastic at what she does and has an incredible way of making the process feel personal rather than transactional. I always feel like she’s working to get me the best deal possible while also making sure I leave with a car I’m genuinely excited about. Three Lexus leases later, I continue to leave Sewell feeling great about both the car and the experience. That says a lot about Callie, but it also says a lot about the kind of experience Sewell has built around its customers.

Below is a letter I wrote to Sewell Corporate however, nobody from the corporate offices bothered to contact me. They forwarded my letter to the less than competent management of Sewell Lexus where I purchased my car and Sewell Cadillac where I've had it serviced since I purchased it. $4,600 in repairs in 2 years on a 2017 Cadillac XTS, one owner car and only 37,000 miles. SEWELL DOES NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT. Dear Sewell Customer Relations, I submitted my concerns via the “Contact Us” form on sewell.com however, I have never received a response. After much thought and consideration, I decided to write to express my disappointment with a vehicle I purchased from your dealership in June 2024. I purchased a 2017 Cadillac XTS Luxury with only 37,700 miles. The vehicle appeared to be in excellent condition, and although it was not a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle, I believed that a vehicle sold by Sewell would have been thoroughly inspected and would be in excellent mechanical condition. Unfortunately, during the two years I have owned the vehicle, I have spent more than $4,600 on repairs and maintenance, all performed at Sewell Cadillac. Considering the purchase price of $22,998, these expenses represent more than 20% of the cost of the vehicle, which I believe is excessive for a low-mileage luxury car purchased from a dealership with Sewell's reputation. I am extremely disappointed by the number and cost of repairs I have experienced in only two years of ownership. I chose to purchase my vehicle from Sewell because of your long-standing reputation for quality, integrity, and exceptional customer service. Based on my experience, I do not believe this vehicle received the thorough inspection that I expected before it was offered for sale. While I understand that mechanical components can fail over time, many of these issues occurred relatively soon after my purchase or involved repairs that reasonably should have been identified during inspection or routine maintenance. As a result, my confidence in both the vehicle and Sewell's inspection process has been significantly diminished. I respectfully ask that Sewell review my service history and consider providing goodwill assistance to help offset some of these unexpected repair expenses. At a minimum, I would appreciate an explanation of how a vehicle with such low mileage required this level of repair so soon after purchase, and why issues such as the CV axle and improperly balanced tires were not identified during inspection or previous service visits. I have always associated the Sewell name with exceptional quality and customer care, and I hope you will take the opportunity to review my concerns and respond in a manner that reflects those values.

After spending 20 years in the automotive industry working in corporate finance, I value a car buying experience that is professional, transparent, and straightforward. I found exactly that at Sewell Lexus. I visited Sewell after another local Lexus dealership made me feel as though earning my business was not a priority. From the moment I walked into Sewell, the welcoming staff immediately reassured me that I had made the right choice. Dinh was the first person to approach me, and although he is new to the business, he did a phenomenal job. Now.. I will admit that I was a little difficult as I could not decide between the Lexus IS 350 and the ES 350e. I was trading in a Genesis G70 that I truly loved, but after a career change and returning to an office after working remotely for the past 10 years, I needed something much more fuel-efficient. Throughout the entire process, Dinh was patient, attentive, and always available to answer my questions. He even had the IS prepared with the bow and paperwork ready to go when I changed my mind and asked to test drive the ES again. He never complained or made me feel rushed or inconvenienced. Instead, he remained gracious and focused on helping me choose the vehicle that was truly right for me. I ultimately selected the ES, and Dinh continued to provide excellent service by patiently walking me through all of the vehicle’s features. As someone who has driven luxury vehicles for many years, I know that the luxury experience is about more than the car it is also about how the dealership makes you feel. Dinh ensured that my experience, from beginning to end, was nothing short of exceptional. Although I will miss my Genesis, I am beyond happy to be part of the Lexus family, and Dinh deserves full credit for making that transition such a positive one. If you are new to Sewell Lexus, ask for Dinh. He will take excellent care of you and please tell him this review is what led you to him! He deserves to know just how amazing he is and how much his patience, professionalism, and kindness are appreciated. - Rhea Scott

Extremely Disappointed With Sewell Lexus Dallas I have been a part of the Sewell family for nearly a decade, and unfortunately, the level of service I recently experienced at Sewell Lexus Dallas was extremely disappointing. After years of trusting Sewell with my vehicles, this experience has seriously changed my perception of the level of customer service they provide. I brought my 2014 Lexus ES in because both the maintenance light and battery light were illuminated. The dealership kept my vehicle for more than a week and ultimately told me they found no issues. Here is where the situation became incredibly frustrating: the moment I picked up my vehicle and started it, both the maintenance light AND battery light came back on. I immediately tried contacting my service advisor, Carlos, multiple times, but he was unavailable. I eventually spoke with a service manager, who told me that my paperwork only indicated the battery light. I explained that when I called to schedule the service and when I pulled into the service bay to drop the vehicle off, I specifically mentioned that BOTH lights were on. The response I received was that, moving forward, I needed to specifically request an oil change instead of simply telling them the maintenance light was on. Seriously? I have never had to specifically say, “Please change my oil,” when bringing a Lexus into the dealership because the maintenance light is illuminated. What makes this even more frustrating is that I had also recently brought my 2024 Lexus TX to Sewell because the maintenance light was on. Guess what? The oil was changed in that vehicle without me having to specifically ask them to change the oil. So apparently, whether the maintenance light means “maintenance” or actually results in the expected maintenance depends on how specifically the customer words the request. That is not the level of service I have come to expect from Sewell. And unfortunately, that wasn't the only issue. I also paid for a headlight restoration service on my 2014 ES. When I picked up the vehicle, I discovered that chemicals from the headlight restoration process had damaged the hood of my vehicle. To Sewell's credit, they did attempt to repair the damage at no cost to me. However, there is still visible damage remaining from the incident. After nearly a decade of being a Sewell customer, I expect better. I expect my concerns to be properly documented. I expect my vehicle to be properly inspected. I expect my service advisor to be available when there is a problem. I expect the service department to communicate clearly. And most importantly, I expect my vehicle to be returned to me in the condition it was in when I dropped it off. Instead, my vehicle was kept for more than a week, I was told there were no issues, and then both warning lights came back on immediately when I started the vehicle. That is unacceptable. Folks, if you take your Lexus to Sewell and the maintenance light is on, apparently you need to specifically say, “CHANGE THE OIL,” because simply telling them that the maintenance light is illuminated may not be enough. After nearly a decade with Sewell, I sincerely hope this was an isolated experience. But based on what I experienced, the level of service appears to be declining, and Sewell needs to take a serious look at what is happening in its service department. I didn't expect perfection. I expected competent service, communication, accountability, and attention to detail. This experience fell far short of that standard.

We recently needed to purchase a new vehicle due to an unfortunate serious accident. We wanted to purchase a certified pre-owned vehicle and from past experience over the last 4 decades we decided to go back to Sewell Lexus because of their great service and excellent selection to choose from. I called before we went to the dealership and asked to speak to a sales person to let them know some details of what we would be looking for and my call was directed to Holden Sparr. I am very glad that I was directed to Holden because he was absolutely amazing to work with! Super knowledgeable, professional and courteous and friendly! So accommodating no matter how many vehicles we wanted to see! It was a very difficult decision to make and it took me longer than I thought it would but Holden was very helpful and I am happy with our decision. The service department did a fabulous job getting our vehicle ready! We bought a 2023 model but it looked and felt brand new when we left the dealership! Thank you Sewell Lexus as usual you did not disappoint! And Mega Kudos to Holden!! We really appreciate him!!
