The team over at Tommy's did a great job of getting my vehicle repaired and back on the road.

I had my vehicle repaired here through an insurance claim, and overall I’m not satisfied with the experience. Communication from the shop was poor — most updates came through my insurance adjuster rather than the shop itself. When I got the vehicle back, there were still issues that shouldn’t have been there, including paint imperfections, compound residue left on the car, and some fitment problems with replaced parts. The estimate also wasn’t handled correctly as written, including OEM parts like the taillights not being done as expected. Because of these issues, the vehicle would need additional re-work to be right. My main takeaway is to make sure everything on your estimate is actually followed and double-checked during the repair process. I expected better attention to detail and communication throughout the job.

I got into a fender bender mid-day Thursday, and originally wanted my car towed home because I am 18 and was alone at the scene. I was swayed by Conroe PD to have it towed instead by this wrecker company/body shop because it would supposedly be more “convenient” and “cheaper.” I was not even given the card of where my car was going until I asked multiple times. On Thursday we called Tommy’s Paint and Body and a woman answered, took our email address, and said they would look at it and reach back out with a quote. Friday morning we called and they had still not looked at the car, so we assumed they were busy. She again said they would get back to us. We called later in the day and she said they would look at it “now." We called for a third time Friday and a man answered saying he didn’t know anything about it, they were closed, and we would have to wait until Monday. Meanwhile, the lot fees were $22.85 a day, plus a $20 impound fee even though we were led to believe it was not being impounded, a $50 “storage notification fee” even though WE were the ones repeatedly calling THEM, and on top of the $200 tow fee there was also a $35 fuel charge. We let them know Thursday that this would not be covered by insurance and we needed a quote on making it drivable and fully fixed as well. Then Monday we were just now informed that moving my car from the impound lot next door into the actual body shop would not even be an option until we came in person to pay the impound fees first, and that they do not allow over-the-phone payment. If these fees and requirements had been disclosed Thursday, we would not have left the car sitting there for days while nobody even looked at it. At that point it felt very obvious they were more interested in charging lot/storage fees than actually helping customers. They did not disclose certain fees up front, or that we would have to come in person with cash or money order just to have it looked at or to tow it elsewhere. We ended up towing it to a different shop. I let them know my issues with the service and they showed zero concern nor apologetic. Terrible communication and terrible service.

Overall everything was very good. I took the window out of my old door and put it in my new door and and put some holes in the window tint as they reinstalled it
