  I have been a customer at this North Bell Boulevard location in Cedar Park for years and have never had a problem until my visit last week. The employee who checked us out—a tall, young white man with brown hair wearing a cap, who also appeared to be directing the work in the bays—repeatedly addressed my husband as “Bud.” He did not provide his name. The repeated use of “Bud” felt dismissive and disrespectful. My husband is a Black man, a disabled veteran, and a veteran of five deployments. He deserves the same professional courtesy as every customer. “Sir” would have been appropriate. I cannot speak to the employee’s intent, but the interaction came across to me as a racial microaggression. This was especially disappointing because it was so different from the respectful service we have received here over the years. I hope management addresses this with the staff and reinforces professional, respectful communication with customers. This experience has made me reconsider whether we will continue patronizing this business.
