I was originally going to leave a one-star review, but I’m giving Leonard’s a second star because the service I received from them in the past was generally pretty good. Unfortunately, my experience today was completely different. About 2.5 years and only 7,000 miles ago, Leonard’s replaced my windshield washer pump because it wasn’t working. My car was already disassembled for a condenser replacement at the time, so it was an inexpensive repair and I figured it made sense to have them replace it while they were in there. That replacement pump failed about three months ago, and I finally brought the car back in. Before I even handed over the key, I was told there would be a $160 diagnostic fee. I actually appreciated them being upfront about that. I wasn’t expecting a free replacement part after 2.5 years. I understand warranties expire. What I wasn’t expecting was a quote of more than $700 to replace the washer pump they installed less than 7,000 miles ago. If I remember correctly, roughly $650 of the quote was for the pump and labor, plus a grommet and some miscellaneous items. An OEM washer pump for this car is about $26. Even if you mark that up substantially—call it $100—I have a hard time understanding the remaining cost. More importantly, this is a part Leonard’s installed brand new less than 7,000 miles ago. I work from home and barely drive this car, and I rarely even use the windshield washers. I’ve probably activated that pump fewer than 100 times since it was installed. There was apparently no consideration whatsoever given to the fact that their replacement failed after such little use and mileage. What bothered me even more were some of the additional recommended services. One was a cabin air filter replacement. I personally replaced that filter only a couple of months ago, which makes me seriously question whether anyone actually inspected it before recommending that I pay to replace it again. Then there was a recommendation for a transmission fluid service. Leonard’s themselves performed the transmission service on this same car less than 10,000 miles ago. Those recommendations are what turned an expensive repair estimate into a loss of confidence for me. When I’m being advised to replace something I recently replaced myself and service a transmission that this same shop serviced less than 10,000 miles ago, I have to question how carefully these recommendations are being made. And as for the washer pump, why would I spend another $700+ replacing a part that Leonard’s installed only 7,000 miles ago when there was apparently no consideration given to its unusually short service life? What confidence would I have that I won’t be right back in the same situation? I’ve had good experiences with Leonard’s in the past, which is why this visit was so disappointing. I trusted this shop. After today, that trust has been seriously damaged.

I’ll start by saying I hate giving a one star review and always like to try to resolve things directly with a business first. I took my car here to get the AC inspected after it stopped blowing cold air. They got me right in and told me they’d update me once they did the diagnosis. They actually have really good systems and I appreciate they even text you the findings and include photos. They told me I needed to replace the entire AC system and that it would be $3000. The urgency in the sales guys voice is what led me to pause. Something didn’t feel right. I called around and I’m glad I did. I got a second opinion from someone in town and I found out it was actually a simple fix that was only $200. $200 and 10 minutes later I’m back in business with a cold AC. The other place walked me through everything and showed me exactly what the problem was and that said he’s seen this often. I asked him just out of curiosity, if I did need to replace the entire AC system, what would it typically cost for my car. He said about $2000. This is the second time I’ve had a major misdiagnosis at Leonard’s. I don’t expect places to be perfect but the first one I didn’t pause and get another opinion and I ended up wasting nearly $10,000. Go somewhere else! Save your time and money.

My car was lighting up like a Christmas tree and I couldn't pass the inspection. We decided to contact Leonard's garage to see what they could tell us. We arrived there at 11 am on Wednesday to leave the car with them. It was an expensive repair (it's an old car) and their estimate was that it would be ready on Monday. They called and it was ready to pick up today - Friday! The people there are just so friendly and so very nice. They told me on the phone that I would be shocked at how the car sounded and ran and he wasn't kidding. I'm so glad we went there! A million thanks, guys!!

Very honest and fair. Manager was great. So far so good on the repairs. Very helpful to be able to see and approve the work before hand on an itemized text. Would recommend.

The guys were super helpful, very communicative about the whole process, and gave a super clear & detailed estimate which helped us feel comfortable pressing the approve button. Will be coming back again in the future. Thanks
