***PLEASE READ*** I strongly caution anyone considering taking their vehicle to Jiffy Lube based on my experience.
On July 6, 2026, I took my 2020 Volkswagen Jetta to Jiffy Lube for routine maintenance, including an oil change and coolant service. Shortly afterward, my check-engine light came on and I began experiencing an oil-pressure-related problem that had not been present before.
I went to AutoZone for a diagnostic scan, replaced the oil-pressure sensor, and eventually had to take the car to an independent mechanic, who replaced the oil and filter AGAIN and performed an oil-pressure test. The problem eventually returned.
There was also an extremely concerning incident where Jiffy Lube employees asked me to pay them money directly, on the side, in CASH, rather than paying Jiffy Lube through a normal company transaction.
But perhaps the most concerning part: less than TWO WEEKS after paying Jiffy Lube for these services, I took the car to an authorized Volkswagen service department and paid $230 for an inspection. Volkswagen recommended that I perform ALL of the services I had just paid Jiffy Lube to perform.
So what exactly did I pay Jiffy Lube for? Did I pay them to do nothing? At a minimum, this gave me serious reason to question whether the services I paid for had actually been completed properly.
Eventually, I was no longer comfortable keeping the vehicle and traded it in. The unresolved condition resulted in an additional $500 deduction from its trade-in value.
My documented losses totaled $1,350.68. I submitted a formal claim and provided documentation. Their third-party claims administrator, Fleet Response, denied it, stating there was no evidence Jiffy Lube was responsible.
I respectfully responded explaining that they appeared to misunderstand my claim. I NEVER claimed Jiffy Lube caused the oil-pressure sensor itself to fail. My claim was about the problems that occurred following their service and my resulting financial losses. I asked them to reconsider or at least explain the basis for their conclusion.
No response.
I followed up again.
No response.
I deliberately waited before posting this because I wanted to give Jiffy Lube every reasonable opportunity to resolve the matter internally. Instead, after everything that happened, my attempts to get a substantive response were simply ignored.
I have documentation supporting the service, diagnostics, subsequent repairs, Volkswagen inspection, trade-in loss, claim, denial, and unanswered follow-ups.
Based on my experience, I will NEVER take another vehicle to Jiffy Lube, and I strongly recommend that others be very careful about trusting their vehicles to this location.
