  Bonnie and the owner are super nice and take care of business for you. The only reason for 4 stars is when my wife picked up the truck, she told her she’d let her use the dolly for free, and also told her she’d get the truck for 0.79 cents a mile instead of the full 0.99 cents a mile. However my final check in showed a charge for the dolly and 0.99 cents a mile. I don’t mind the 0.99 cents a mile. But I probably Wouldn’t have used the dolly if I knew there was a charge for it. So we were a little mislead and it costed us more money.

  I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with this Penske location in Paris, Tennessee, was one of the most distressing customer service experiences I have ever had. I did not choose this location myself. Penske customer service recommended that I drive from Fort Campbell because this location had the truck size I needed at an affordable rate. Before making the 1 hour and 37 minute drive, I called the office to ask if I could pick up my truck earlier than scheduled. The employee agreed. When I arrived during business hours, the office was closed. The only way to communicate was through the Ring doorbell camera. The employee informed me that she was at home mowing her lawn and asked if I could wait another one to two hours. Having already driven all that way, I had no choice but to wait. When she eventually arrived, she invited me inside, and we began the rental process. Everything went smoothly until my payment was processed. My Bank of America credit card was declined twice. I wasn't sure why, so I checked my phone and discovered that Bank of America had sent a fraud alert asking whether I was attempting the transaction. I confirmed that I was, asked the employee to run the card again, and the payment was approved immediately. What happened next is what left me shaken. Unknown to me, law enforcement had apparently been contacted while I was trying to resolve the payment issue. Just as my payment was successfully approved and we were finishing the rental paperwork, multiple police vehicles arrived. An officer entered the office while other patrol vehicles remained outside. The employee smiled at the officer and said, "I did not do it," and then they engaged in a conversation while I stood there waiting. This entire interaction should be visible on the location's surveillance cameras. The officer remained at the location while I inspected the truck, received the keys, and completed the pickup. The employee even thanked me for my military service and shook my hand before I left. I then sat in the truck trying to understand what had just happened and familiarize myself with the controls. The officer did not leave until I pulled away, and he followed me as I drove out of Paris. As an active-duty service member, that experience was frightening. I felt nervous, confused, and genuinely feared that the situation could escalate despite the fact that my payment issue had been resolved successfully. What should have been a routine truck rental became an experience that I still think about today. I sincerely hope Penske investigates what occurred by reviewing the surveillance footage and determining whether this situation was handled appropriately. Customers deserve to be treated with professionalism, respect, and good judgment—especially when a simple payment verification resolves the issue.
