I’m normally not the type of person to leave a review like this, but when you have the same problem with the same employees, the same disrespectful attitude, the same smart-ass tone, and the same unnecessary remarks, eventually enough is enough.
We drove 25–30 minutes to this location specifically to have our alternator tested because there is a BIG sign outside advertising **FREE ALTERNATOR TESTING**. We walked in politely and explained that our car wasn’t starting, that we had already replaced the battery, and that we simply wanted to know whether the alternator was working.
Instead of politely explaining that they no longer provide that service, the employee responded with an extremely disrespectful attitude and said, “Dude, we haven’t done that in years." Proceeded to roll his eyes and ask him completely the different question of what we needed done.
Okay, then maybe TAKE THE SIGN DOWN.
If you haven’t offered alternator testing in years, why are you still advertising it outside your store? Why isn’t that information made clear before customers waste their time and gas driving 25–30 minutes for a service you apparently no longer provide? A simple, “I’m sorry, but unfortunately we don’t offer that service anymore,” would have been perfectly fine. There was absolutely no reason for the attitude. There was no reason for the eye roll. There was no reason to be a smart-ass.
We left because we weren’t going to stand there and argue with someone who clearly didn’t want to help us. We ended up going to Advance Auto Parts instead, where we had a completely different experience. They were helpful, respectful, and actually treated us like customers. Based on our experience, I would strongly recommend going there instead.
Unfortunately, the situation with this employee didn’t end there.
I called the store after we found out what we needed. Unfortunately advance Auto didn't have what we needed, and the person who answered told me he was with a customer and needed to put me on hold. I said, “Okay, no problem.” I waited for around 10 minutes, and then the call disconnected. I don’t know whether it disconnected on my end or theirs, and honestly, it doesn’t matter. Naturally, when a call disconnects while you’re on hold, you call back.
So I called back—not repeatedly to harass anyone, not because I was impatient, and not because I expected him to drop what he was doing. I was simply calling back because the previous call had disconnected.
Before I could even explain that, he immediately said, in an incredibly rude tone, “Can you stop calling and hold on while I’m with the customer?”
Excuse me?
Maybe allow someone to actually speak before assuming they’re intentionally bothering you. I was trying to tell you that the call had disconnected. I had absolutely no problem waiting while you helped another customer. What I had a problem with was being spoken to disrespectfully for absolutely no reason.
And yes, I could tell it was the same employee we had dealt with in person—the larger-set man with glasses. Both interactions had the same rude, dismissive attitude.
Customer service is part of the job. Nobody expects employees to be smiling every second of the day or to bend over backward for every customer, but basic respect and professionalism should not be too much to ask. If you’re having a bad day, that doesn’t give you the right to take it out on customers who have done nothing but speak politely to you.
So my advice to anyone considering this location: **go somewhere else.** Save yourself the time, gas, and disrespect. And management seriously needs to address the way customers are being spoken to.
Also, if you truly haven’t offered free alternator testing “in years,” **TAKE THE SIGN DOWN.**
