  I recently returned a rental and accidentally left my medication box inside. Unfortunately, I did not realize it was missing until later that evening after the location had already closed. The following day was Sunday, so I had to wait until Monday morning to contact the office. When I called, the first thing I was told was, “Can we just call you back in 30?” rather than being greeted and asked how I could be assisted. I explained that I had left a medication box in the vehicle and that it was extremely important. I provided the only information requested, that it was a Chrysler van returned Saturday morning. I was never asked for my name, phone number, rental agreement number, or any other identifying information. The employee was off the phone for only about 30 seconds (IF that) before returning and stating that she did not find anything but that they would call if it was found. I felt very rushed off the phone and given the importance of the situation, I attempted to call back several times for updates. On four separate occasions, I was placed on hold for approximately 15 minutes and ultimately disconnected every time. Concerned about the situation, I drove from Shelbyville to the rental location in Murfreesboro myself. When I arrived, I immediately located the vehicle still parked on the lot. I looked inside and found my medication box sitting in plain sight exactly where I had left it. While I am relieved that my medication was recovered, I am extremely disappointed by the lack of effort, communication, and customer service shown throughout the process. Had a thorough search actually been conducted, the item would have been easily located. Given that this involved important prescription medication, the situation could have had serious consequences.
