Very disappointing experience.
I brought my truck in for brake repairs and installation of an electric vacuum pump for a cammed truck. Before towing it in, I confirmed the known issues, including a damaged caliper, brake pads/rotors, ABS-related concerns, and the vacuum pump installation. Multiple mechanics, including the original cam installer, had previously advised that the vacuum pump would likely address the low-speed brake stiffness issue.
After the truck arrived, I was initially told the pump could not be installed because it was an aftermarket part. Later, the shop agreed to install it and advised that it improved the issue.
I also requested repair of several known issues, including brakes, ABS-related components, emergency brake cable concerns, and front-end issues. Some of these items were either not completed or remained unresolved.
After more than 30 days in the shop, I paid approximately $2,500 and received the truck back with ongoing issues, including active brake/ABS warning lights and a soft brake pedal. Shortly afterward, the truck also began experiencing electrical stalling issues that were not present before the repair.
I returned the truck to give the shop an opportunity to correct the issue, but the problems persisted and I ultimately had to take the vehicle to another repair facility for further diagnosis.
Overall, this experience resulted in significant downtime, additional expenses, and loss of use of my work vehicle.
