We weren't able to get it to work, but the man working did give us specific instructions on what we needed to use our debit card. Once we had everything we needed we were out the door in no time. If you are using a credit card call ahead of time and verify they accept the card provider you have.

Ian denied us our rental stating we needed to follow Memphis residency policy to pay with debit card, when we aren’t residents and presented military id. This policy is stated on budget’s own corporate website, even when this was presented to him, he called his manager who still denied it. Another customer was also experiencing issues at this location as well.

The vehicle was dirty inside, nearly out of gas, displayed an oil change warning, and had brake concerns shortly after pickup. During our trip, the infotainment system completely failed, affecting the GPS and climate controls. These issues caused my family to lose a full day of vacation while trying to resolve problems that should never have existed. Despite being promised a one-day discount and an alternate return option, we were forced to continue driving a vehicle that did not feel properly maintained. The $30 compensation offered does not adequately address the inconvenience, safety concerns, lost vacation time, and additional expenses my family incurred. I expected a clean, safe, and reliable vehicle and did not receive one. I am very dissatisfied with how this situation was handled and believe a more substantial refund is warranted.
