- SDShawna DavisJul 3, 20265.0I went to the advanced on bear creek at 7:30am right when they pretty much just opened that morning, I was in desperate need of a battery and battery installation service so that I could make it to work on time. When I entered the store the nice man was the only employee there and told me that while he wanted to help me he couldn’t bc he had no one to cover the store while he installed my battery for me. We conversed a little bit about my situation and he told me to park my car right at the front door so that he could go ahead and help me and so he would be able to run the store if he needed to. He also gave me a great deal on the battery since the one I wanted which was the cheaper one was out of stock. He had my battery installed, He cleaned all the corrosion off of the post and had me ready to be on my way within 30 minutes. I was so grateful for this because he easily could’ve stuck by what he originally said and not helped me which would have been no fault of his own but still he made sure he helped me no matter what. I wish I would have gotten his name to include in this review bc he deserves 100% recognition for this! I even tried tipping him for helping me and he wouldn’t dare take it! To the red headed guy with glasses who works at the advanced auto parts store on bear creek, you are an angel! I hope you get everything you deserve and more!

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
