Appalling service. They had my vehicle for 7 weeks for what I was led to believe was only minor body damage. During that almost 2-month period, I received only 1 call regarding the status of my vehicle. Had I not initiated other calls myself, I would have been completely in the dark about what was going on. (For context, I live in Florida and was on my way to Nebraska when I was involved in a collision in Pleasantview.) Later when I discovered that there were issues they had overlooked, they actually REFUSED to authorize my local (Florida) Gerber Collision Center to perform any work on my vehicle.
First off, my engine would not start when I arrived to pick up the car because the battery was ruined from sitting so long. The gentleman from the front counter assured me that everything would be fine and was able to jumpstart the car with battery cables. He said to be sure I drove it for a little while to recharge the battery before stopping anywhere. So, approximately 20 minutes after leaving the shop to start my return trip to Florida, I filled up the gas tank and my car was just dead. A family at the gas station I had stopped at tried 3 times to jumpstart the battery, but ultimately I was stranded there. Two hours went by before someone from the shop arrived to replace the battery. Because they did not charge for the battery I assumed they were trying to make things right, so I decided to let things go.
Fast foward to July 1st, my husband went to refill my windshield wiper canister and the fluid immediately poured through the canister to the ground. Gradually, my AC has begun going out as well. My vehicle was struck on the front passenger side and they completely disregarded damage under the hood. (Perhaps knowing that I most certainly would not be back, regardless of the half-assed work they did.) And during the summer, I did not drive my car often enough to notice the freon leak until mid-July. About a month ago, I brought the invoice from Clarksville to my local Gerber, and although the repairs are "guaranteed," the shop that performed body work and neglected to properly inspect my vehicle, now is preventing my local shop from fixing what Clarksville overlooked. When contacted by the shop owner here, I was told they stated that my car had been repaired in the beginning of April and that anything wrong with it had been previously addressed (Clearly glossing over the fact that my car was not even available to pick up until May 17th and I was there on the 18th to get it.)
Trust that I will be reporting this to my insurance as well.
