⭐ 1 STAR. UNPROFESSIONAL, INCOMPETENT, AND ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY!
We took our truck to this Valvoline location for a routine oil change on July 19, 2026, and somehow left with a transmission problem that has turned into a complete nightmare.
Blake, the assistant manager, recommended a transmission fluid change. We specifically told him we had been advised to let the dealership handle that service because of our truck’s mileage. Instead of respecting our concerns, he assured us Valvoline had the proper fluid and equipment and convinced us to let him do it. And guess what! He said if he couldn’t do it he would remove the change.
Well, guess what? THE MACHINE KEPT DYING AFTER OUR TRANSMISSION FLUID HAD ALREADY BEEN DRAINED! Not once. Not twice. MULTIPLE TIMES! We sat in that bay for over 45 minutes while nobody seemed capable of explaining what was going on. My fiancé actually had to get out of our truck and provide a battery pack to try to charge THEIR equipment. Yes, you read that correctly. A CUSTOMER was trying to help employees get THEIR equipment working! While they yelled “Customer on the floor”!
Blake eventually told us he had to manually top off the transmission fluid. The very next day, our truck was jerking severely and running hot. We returned, and SURPRISE! The fluid needed topping off AGAIN. Blake topped it off and told us to return if we had more problems. And that is exactly what we did.
When the problems continued, we encountered Hayden, whose attitude was just as disappointing as this entire experience. He immediately claimed this was the first he had heard of the situation and told us the location had cameras and audio that would be reviewed. We were instructed to get an estimate.
Then came the immediate denial.
Apparently, showing us a dipstick was more important than investigating the entire situation. What about the machine repeatedly failing? What about sitting in the bay for nearly an hour? What about my fiancé trying to charge their equipment? What about Blake manually topping off the fluid? What about us returning because our truck was experiencing problems immediately after the service? What about the significant discount we received on our oil change for their mistake?
Conveniently, those details seemed to get lost when it was time for Valvoline to take responsibility.
We took our truck to Chevrolet, where we were informed that the transmission fluid was still low and there was debris in the transmission. Now we are dealing with a serious transmission concern, and Valvoline has denied our claim again.
Let me be clear: WE DID NOT BRING OUR TRUCK IN WITH THIS COMPLAINT. WE BROUGHT IT IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE! We trusted the employees who assured us they could perform this service. Now, instead of receiving accountability and a fair investigation, we are left fighting to have our concerns taken seriously.
And Matthew, the field manager? Absolutely no help. He never returned our calls. Apparently, returning a customer’s call is just as difficult as getting the equipment to work.
The customer service throughout this ordeal has been ridiculous. The attitude, the lack of communication, the excuses, and the refusal to meaningfully address our concerns are unacceptable. It is easy to stand behind a denial when you are not the one potentially facing a transmission repair bill.
Blake, Hayden, and Matthew: this entire experience has been a masterclass in how NOT to handle customers. When something goes wrong, customers should not have to beg for answers, repeatedly explain the same timeline, and chase down management just to be heard.
We are pursuing the appropriate legal options because we are not simply going to accept a denial and pretend this never happened.
If you value your vehicle, your money, and your peace of mind, think twice before trusting this location with a transmission service he’ll even an oil change. Our experience has been beyond frustrating, and the lack of accountability has made an already stressful situation even worse.
