I purchased a 2017 Chevrolet Cruze from Zoom Motors in January 2026 with approximately 80,000 miles on it. Before buying the vehicle, I specifically asked the salesperson if all recommended maintenance had been completed for the vehicle’s mileage and whether there were any known issues. I was assured that the maintenance was up to date and that there were no known problems.
During my test drive, I noticed the tire pressure warning light was on. The dealership agreed to fix the issue and also promised to provide a replacement key because the key I received did not even have a door lock button. Later that same day, I discovered the vehicle had no functioning low-beam headlights, requiring another trip back to the dealership for repairs.
Less than six months later, a mechanic informed me that the vehicle has both a major oil leak and a transmission leak. According to the mechanic, these leaks appear to have been present for a long time, making it difficult to understand how they were not noticed or disclosed before the vehicle was sold.
Additionally, I have learned that the vehicle had not received all of the recommended maintenance for its mileage. The front struts are still the original factory struts and should have been replaced around 60,000–70,000 miles. I am now facing an estimated repair bill of $1,000–$2,000 for the suspension alone, not including the cost of repairing the oil and transmission leaks.
To make matters worse, the online listing for the vehicle was inaccurate. Several features advertised on the website were not actually included. The most notable example is cruise control, which was listed as a feature but is not equipped on the vehicle.
I have owned this car for less than six months and am already facing thousands of dollars in repairs for issues that should have been identified and addressed before the vehicle was offered for sale. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend purchasing a vehicle from Zoom Motors. If you do decide to buy from them, I strongly recommend having the vehicle independently inspected by a trusted mechanic before signing any paperwork.
