- AFAbbey FultonJun 10, 20265.0Imagine being stuck on the side of the road no way to get a part no way to get a mechanic. 1 hour from any other towns big enough to have a parts store and very close to closing time. Worse case scenario right? No thanks to Russ at this establishment we were able to get our part before the end of the day. You may ask how? Russ personally drove to us in the middle of Kimble South Dakota after store hours and brought our part. I highly recommend anyone that needs anything go to see Russ at advanced auto. This guy needs a raise!

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle.
