  When I initially pulled up and parked out front of the business, I had just shut my car door, turned around and there was the Manager whose name was Gene, he had a big smile on his face and inquired how I was doing, and how could he help me? Immediately I was disarmed because of his friendly attitude and helpful nature. I was having the oil changed in my wife's Toyota Camry and usually if I was not at a Toyota Dealership, previous businesses I had frequented did not have a tool to remove the oil filter or remove the drain plug. I shared this with Gene. He assured me that he was almost completely sure that they had the necessary tools, and he would check. Within approximately one minute he confirmed that they indeed could do the job. He gave me the pricing and I chose the best Synthetic oil for the make and model engine of my wife's car. The other two employees, James and Juan went to work on the car informing me of the various fluid levels they checked. Impressive. And when the oil had been changed they explained in detail the amount of oil that was replaced and after the new Synthetic oil had drained down into the oil pan they pulled the oil stick and showed me how clean the new oil was and that was super impressive. They all were very professional, attending to my wife's vehicle. The art of excellent Customer Service has almost disappeared from most businesses these days. However, I have renewed confidence that there is one business I definitely know that has Excellent CUSTOMER SERVICE, and that is VALVOLINE INSTANT OIL CHANGE located on North Pine Street in Spartanburg, SC. ALL three of the employees I encountered bring so much value to that business. They were so prompt that the time of the oil change from beginning to end was less than 20 minutes! It is my opinion that those guys deserve at least a $35 dollar BONUS each. Their value is really incalculable. I had absolutely zero cash that morning, but I would have given them a much deserved tip for their positive attitudes, the positive energy as they embraced their job, and the effort and knowledge they exuded as they made me as a customer reacquaint myself with something I had not experienced in over 40 years, and that is I was actually valued as a customer. That cannot be duplicated or imitated..it must be sincere. And Gene, Juan and James are truly sincere, as they embrace their customers, the job they have before them and do not make the customer feel as though they are a burden or not really appreciated or welcome at their business. I intend to return to Valvoline Instant Oil Change and have various services applied to my vehicle. And more importantly I will tell my family and friends about this high quality service center that has distanced itself so far ahead of competitors. To know this is absolute truth, you must experience the appointment to fully understand this review. So what are you waiting for? No reservation is needed.   Everyone was polite and friendly and kind, it was done fast and I was able to make it to work on time. Highly recommend this Valvoline to anyone living in the Spartanburg area

  Philippe and Abigale overfilled my oil by 1/4 of a quart. The day following my oil change, my car sensor went off alerting me that it was overfilled. Thankfully I was able to have it taken out at another valvoline with competent staff. In addition to overfilling my car, while I was there, the staff (Abigale and Philippe) was completely incompetent, childish and horse playing. Abigale was poking Philippe with a drill and spraying him with some type of cleaner while philippe was filling my engine with oil. Then Philippe dropped a cap down into my engine bay. Philippe had to recheck what air filter I had three times. You could tell those two weren’t focused and were playing around too much. I will never return to this location. They could have done serious damage to my car with how they overfilled it with oil.
