Jacob at Safelite in Mount Pleasant was so helpful, patient, respectful and took pride in showing me tips and features in my new Tesla that I am still learning new things about daily. I have never had an EV or Hybrid and he helped me more than anyone in my car purchase did and my windshield looks better than brand new in my opinion. I’ve always used Safelite because I travel for work & have had multiple instances in my 20 year career driving across southeast for work and am always impressed how I get the same great service, excellent results for decades now, every single time, in every state in southeast, both on site appts & mobile appts. I proudly recommend yall to others and hope yall don’t see me for a while and can take care of my friends instead of me for a change. :) Consistent, polite team members from admin, to labor/techs, cust svc reps, managers, and online chat help get 5 stars…from initial phone call to schedule, to confirmation and tech making sure I know how to care after I leave. Jacob deserves a raise or bonus for sure. Thank you!!

Scheduled an appointment and sat at home from 1pm - 6pm waiting on them to come. Never showed up and after I called they said that my glass replacement had been canceled due to not having the windshield. Don’t waste your time with this company. You’ll sit around waiting for nothing.

One star. Avoid Safelite, especially if you have a newer vehicle and care about OEM glass. There are other auto glass companies in Charleston with excellent reviews. Use one of them. The actual installation itself went well. My issue is the complete lack of communication and transparency about what Safelite was installing on my vehicle. My Lexus is a brand-new 2026 vehicle that I have owned for approximately two months. I have comprehensive coverage through USAA and have been insured with USAA since I was 18. I have also used Safelite since I was 16 or 17 years old —I’m almost 40, and have had windshields replaced on multiple new vehicles without this issue. This time, Safelite replaced the factory windshield on my brand-new vehicle with non-OEM glass without ever telling me beforehand. I was not presented with an OEM versus aftermarket/OEE option. I was not asked which I preferred. I did not find out until AFTER the windshield had already been installed. When I contacted Safelite, they blamed the insurance company. USAA told me that OEM glass could have been requested before installation and that Safelite could have submitted the request. Unfortunately, because Safelite had already installed and billed for the replacement, USAA was not going to pay for a second windshield. That is exactly why Safelite should have communicated this BEFORE performing the work. What makes this worse is that Safelite’s own website states that customers can choose OEM or OEE glass prior to service. I was never given that choice. (Safelite) I also received no receipt or detailed work order telling me what glass was being installed. When I requested documentation afterward, I was told there wasn’t a receipt available. Had Safelite simply told me, “Your insurance has approved OEE glass. Would you like us to request OEM instead?” I would have chosen OEM. Instead, that decision was made without my knowledge, and I found out after it was too late to correct it through my insurance. After years of being a Safelite customer, I will never use them again. Avoid Safelite for this reason. If you have a newer vehicle, do not assume they are replacing your windshield with OEM glass. Ask before they touch your car. You have other auto glass options in Charleston with excellent reviews. I wish I had used one of them.
