  I recently returned an alternator that failed after only two weeks. I came into the store calmly with the part, but because I didn't have the original box or a paper receipt, the employee immediately insisted it wasn't from AutoZone and repeatedly asked for a receipt. Before I even got to the front of the line she was telling me this while checking someone else out. I explained that the purchase was made at that location and was attached to my account, but it wasn't until I specifically asked her to look up my purchase history that she did. Once she checked, she found the purchase, processed the refund, and then walked away without any acknowledgment or apology. I understand employees need to verify returns, but I would have appreciated a willingness to check my account before assuming I was trying to return something that wasn't purchased there. I think it’s extremely ironic her name was Hope when the moment we interacted, I felt hopeless. The only reason I give two stars was because she didnt have to “check with the manager” once she realized she was wrong.

  I can’t say enough good things about my experience at this AutoZone location in Mauldin! After being turned away from two O’Reilly Auto Parts stores (where I had previously purchased and had my battery installed), I was frustrated and unsure where to go. From the moment I walked in, Store Manager John Brown made all the difference. He greeted me with a joke and genuine smile that immediately put me at ease. He was incredibly pleasant, patient, and kind throughout the entire process. John listened to my situation, asked the right questions, and didn’t hesitate to grab his coat and head outside to inspect my battery himself. Within about 15 minutes, I had a new battery installed and was ready to get back on the road. I was so impressed with the service that I ended up purchasing windshield wipers as well! It’s rare to find this level of customer care, and John exemplifies what great service should look like. Highly recommend this location and especially working with John if you need any auto parts or assistance!​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
