    Overall, I've had a mixed experience at this National location. As an Emerald Club Executive Elite for years with over 100 nights so far in 2026 on rentals from the GSP base, I've come to know this location pretty well. Unfortunately, I feel that the overall experience and service has declined since they moved to the new rental facility. Sometimes the cars are well cleaned, sometimes they're not. Usually the customer service agents are friendly, but occasionally they're understaffed and agents are either unavailable or cranky. In the new facility, it's great to be able to choose your own car and all, but operational challenges involving management are holding this location back. I've witnessed several confrontations with Executive Club customers as they routinely store "reserved" and premium vehicles in the Executive Club area and won't rent them to Executive Club members. They keep saying they are going to change the signage, but that never seems to happen, and they often have a huge inventory of supposedly "reserved" cars. My biggest concern is that this location apparently has a local policy established by the location manager that when their systems go down (which seems to happen a lot), staff physically write down all renters' credit card details as a workaround so that the rentals can be manually entered when their systems come back online. As someone who works in the security industry and knows PCI DSS regulations, I'm not comfortable with this and would urge management to improve this procedure immediately as it is an HUGE legal liability and compliance concern. I was told by the manager on duty in no uncertain terms that if I'm not comfortable with them taking down my card details, they simply wouldn't release any car to me and would refuse my business. The way that the manager instinctively rattled that line off tells me that they've received pushback on this "policy" before, but they refuse to fix their processes. Free advice: The industry standard for taking credit card payments when internet service fails is simple and the solution has been around since the 60s. Keep a few manual imprint machines (the old "slide" style devices) on hand for outages and actually use them. These ensure that only a customer's card number is captured and not other key data (like the CVV code) that can be used for identity theft. The paper imprints need to be secured in a PCI-compliant locked container and securely destroyed when no longer needed. I urge management at the GSP location to take this advice, improve their business processes, and work to improve operations.

    Disappointed, stranded and frustrated! My flight to Greeneville was delayed 4 hours and instead of landing at 940pm, I landed at 2am. I called the number for the location, which is not the location but a call center. They stated that since I put in my flight # with the reservation, the location should be open an additional 2 hours and I could “hope” to make it to pickup a car. Well… by the time the flight landed and I made my way to the rental car center, it was 210am. I walked to the Executive aisle, picked a car but no one was at the gate to check me out. I turned around, went back to the counter areas and only one company was still open, serving customers: Hertz. The nice lady said the others left over an hour ago. Wow! Now I’m stuck at the airport until National decides to open and I’m out the cost of one night’s hotel stay. I’m tired, frustrated and stranded at the airport! If National makes it right, I’ll take down this post.
