  Great service!! The rear brakes were scraping so I called Steingold Volvo service deoartment. They had me bring the car in that morning for evaluation. They contacted me quickly with an update and said they’d take care of it right away. I agreed and my car was repaired and ready within 3 hours. When I picked it up, the car was washed and cleaned. The entire process was so smooth. They sent me updates and a video of the brakes inspection and repair and a written report. Steingold makes the entire process from purchase to repairs so easy. They take care of everything. I highly recommend Steingold to anyone I know looking for a Volvo Grest company and awesome people.

  Just leased a 2026 XC60 T8 from Stephen at Steingold and it was the most straightforward car deal I've ever done.   We are very disappointed in the service department and our service. My husband and I bought a Volvo XC 60, 2021 four years ago from Steingold. Sparing needless details we brought our car in for three consecutive visits because it entered Emergency limp mode on two of those three occasions which kept its speed at 40 miles during rush-hour on 95 south in Rhode Island. After the car was returned to us it entered the limp mode AGAIN on The Washington St., Bridge after we were assured that the problem was fixed. From the beginning of this problem to the end my wife and I were without our car for almost a month and a half. When we would call for status updates, we were often made to feel like it was improper of us to do so and we should just wait until we are called, which is what we were essentially told more than once. Yes, the expensive extended warranty we purchased provided us with a rental car, but it did not result in our car being fixed properly. Lacking confidence in the Steingold team, we had to seek help from other qualified mechanics. We sent emails to the Head of the service department but received no return communication. We did receive a standard diagnostic video from the technician however, the video quality and audio quality was so poor that we could not understand any of it. Yes, we made it clear in our letter that we did not want ongoing communications about technical issues, but we did not say we would not entertain a response to our email. All the extensive praise about Steingold Volvo we read about in the reviews does not justify or ameliorate our sense of disappointment with a company that we had come to trust, apparently unjustifiably.

  I don't usually write negative reviews, but thought this would be helpful for new residents looking for a Volvo service center given limited local options. I started getting my car serviced at Steingold 4-5 years ago, and was surprised they didn't do a multi-point inspection when I came in for an oil change. That was routine at my old place, but I thought maybe I just lucked out with my previous service center. When they tried to convince me to replace my battery for $600-$700 with a subpar warranty that Walmart's cheapest batteries can beat, I decided it was time to go elsewhere (and it's a good thing I did - a year later, and my battery works just fine). Just went to Tasca Volvo for the first time last month and they're much better! Friendlier staff and they do a complementary multi-point inspection with oil change. If you have to go to Steingold, at least try to work with Rich - Susan Cota is rude and not at all helpful.
