Hi! Today , I stopped at the Valvoline shop and ask their staff (Andrew) to add some transmission oil. (I already purchased correct transmission oil 2.0 for my car Acura MDX 2024 and had it with me). After the Mechanic looked at my car, Andrew told me that "they would NOT BE ABLE ADD Transmission oil because the plug is underneath the Car and it's not easily accessible" etc. Basically, the Valvaline shop which located on N.E. Weidler street, Portland Oregon DENIED me a SERVICE and refused to do a simple procedure to add Transmission Fluid to my Car!! To potential customers- please AVOID that Valvoline Shop because they just might to refuse to Service your Car!!

I asked for my cabin air filter NOT to be checked. They said “sorry it’s part of the service”…with an attitude, and proceeded to check it anyways. Left an absolute mess of oil in my engine bay and underneath my car. Seemed to be annoyed I had coupons - tried to tell me I couldn’t use a new customer coupon because the PREVIOUS OWNER of my car had been to a Valvoline before. I won’t be back here unfortunately.

    - CAUTION FEMALES - BUYER BEWARE - i came into the shop yesterday to get my oil changed (i’m a male for reference), i provided my own oil and my own filter, in the past this customer supplied oil and filter service cost no more than $25, only after they were underway with the service did they let me know it would be $60! FOR WHAT?!?!?! so that was honestly just annoying, i’m assuming a ‘manager’ or ‘supervisor’ was talking to me and ended up giving me a discount because of the overly inflated price. While that was all going on, there was a woman in a car in the middle bay to my right and the tech working with her was doing nothing but flirting and honestly being weird, it made me feel uncomfortable, that’s not even the worst of it tho. as someone who has a history of working at a quick lube and not being like that, i took note. so both of our services are moving along and i over hear her ask to have her transmission fluid checked, a couple minutes later the worker in the middle bay is over by their oil dispenser guns and is dispensing fresh ATF on to his hand, which the pressure of the gun made the ATF spray and it covered my hood and windshield, before i can get anyone’s attention to try and get it cleaned up, i see him walk to her window and tell this woman that her transmission fluid looks great, showing her the fresh ATF he has just sprayed on his hand/my car. THATS DEPLORABLE. THATS SHADY. so then, here i am, car covered in ATF, they just tried to charge me $60 for basically nothing, and they go to pull me out, i had to remind them they said they would read my engine codes, which the ‘manager’ had an attitude about because “we need to get this next car in here”, i let the tech working with me know my car got sprayed with ATF, which he definitely wanted to help get it cleaned off and i can appreciate that he had a plan to do so. meanwhile the ‘manager’ grabbed a paper towel and just smeared the ATF all around on my hood and rushed to get me pulled out of the service bay. the tech working with me was trying to slow him down and get my car cleaned off, which he tried, but ATF is oil based, there was smeared oil all over my windshield and hood. a quick wipe or spray from the windshield washer fluid gun isn’t getting this off. so after watching them deceive this poor woman beside me, me way over pay for them to drop my oil out and pour more in, get my car oil slicked from ATF, i then was on the hook to go actually clean up the mess the middle bay tech made, so a $15 car wash later i can see out of my windshield. i won’t be returning, i wont be recommending, i wont be sending my wife alone there any longer. absolutely unacceptable behavior to deceive someone like that, my other problems aside.

I got oil change done and I would NOT recommend anyone going here. Here are my reasons: 1) They will charge a “temporary surcharge” on top of whatever the price of oil change is without telling you. I opted for email receipt and did not see it until I got home and checked my email. 2) They will pull up your carfax report from your VIN and then list out fake issues. For me they said my radiator isn’t working properly and there’s something wrong with the rear differential. Seriously!? Buddy I won’t be able to drive around if my radiator was down. 3) I got full synthetic oil which can easily last 6000 miles. But when they give me the next service sticker, it had 3000 miles on it. So they want you to get oil change done more frequently even if you don’t need it.

On the morning of my visit there was a 2 car deep queue at each of the bays. Check in was quick and included an estimated time to get into the bay and when I could expect to be done with my service. I really appreciated this touch that created a reasonable expectation. All of the attendants were good communicators and the team overall seemed to work really well together and were respectful to each other.
