- BSBradley ShanksMay 15, 20265.0I am extremly pleased with Rene at Hillside Imports! I had some issues with my VW Golf. I took it in for a diagnosis at an eastside repair shop. They said I needed a new clutch and flywheel, and quoted $3,600, and wanted me to purchase the parts before schudling the service. Luckily I spent time asking other shops around town for quotes on this type of repair. Rene came back with the lowest quote by far. When I scheduled the repair, he did not ever request for me to prepurchase anything. I braced myself when Rene called me on the day of the repair. But to my surpise he said "we don't see anything wrong with this clutch". He test drove it, had another team member test drive it, and determined that any repair was unnecessary. I offered to pay him for the time and effort, but he would not charge me! In summary, Rene has earned my trust and will get all of my future repair business.

Rene is an awesome mechanic — every single time I bring my bug in I’m so happy with the communication, service, and outcome. They go above and beyond every time — at pickup my car is always vacuumed and looks better than when I dropped it off!! Recently Rene offered support in a pinch when a maintenance light unexpectedly came on the day before I needed to drive across town to the airport. (Rene, the light miraculously turned off!! That’s why you didn’t hear back from me before that trip!) Thanks so much for your voicemail and the options you shared. I’ll be calling in soon for my next oil change and maintenance check. Thank you for all the support over the years and for all the years to come! I can’t recommend Hillside Imports enough.
