  Rented on 2026-08-19 (iso-8601, yyyy-mm-dd). Staff is great but understaffed. I arrived exactly at my reservation starting time. The car was not ready -- it needed to be refueled. Sure I'll wait. I waited 40 minutes (not 14, but 40 for a fill up) and was astonished to learn that the fuel tank was only half full. Apparently their staff is not allowed to fill the tank -- they need to talk to a clerk at the gas station office, and before fueling the vehicle, estimate how much fuel they need to buy. When their employee guesses low, the tank doesn't fill. This is not in the interest of Entreprise or its clients. You want your cars full of fuel so that your customers are favorably impressed with the care and preparation of your vehicles. Enterprise should change the fueling policy from "employees shall estimate fuel quantity before fueling" to "employees should fuel the vehicle and then ask gas station attendant for payment authorization". The staff at Newport, Oregon are well-meaning and diligent. Enterprise shouldn't undermine their staff's good will with administrative rules that help nobody.
