- HBHamid Shibata BennettAug 27, 20262.0Gills spent an hour diagnosing my car after a check engine light came on. They verbally told me there was rod knock (they did not put this on the receipt) and it was throwing dealer codes that needed an engine swap. They ignored my suggestion of checking the multi air filter. So, I took the car to another mechanic who replaced the multi air filter and the oil filter, gave the engine a flush, changed the oil, mended a vacuum leak, and now things are good. No rod knock detected. Gills just ripped me off by failing to diagnose the issue, do any research on my car, and misleading about the rod knock. I feel deeply disappointed after going to Olson Bros (now Gills) for most of my auto repair needs for the past decade. They did vacuum the floor, so thanks for that.

Email was sent authorization to replace cabin air filter with pictures. Notified Me car was ready to be picked up. Thank you very much. Always appreciate you guys.

They listen and relieve me of any thoughts or feelings of distrust of auto mechanics. There's something missing at the dealerships...oh,yeah: honesty, skill and they charged me for their ineptitude and dishonesty. See Kelly and his crew at Gills Point S on McLoughlin. They were recommended to me and like me you'll be Glad you did.
