I work in Salem, and drive 4 miles out of my way to go to this gas station on my way to or from work. Tonight with my reward points, I saved 50 cents a gallon off their already low prices.
I'm a senior with degenerative disc disease, and after standing for most of the day, I want someone to pump the gas for me. I can always count on having an attendant there at the full serve pump.
Tonight my attendant was Shannon, I've seen him here before, and he's always quick, polite and smiling. There was a very rude "Karen" in an SUV, who apparently thought she should get service before everyone else. She loudly honked her horn, and started screaming out her window at Shannon. There's six pumps, and he's one person and was going as fast as possible. Some of the others got out of their vehicles, and pumped their own gas, obviously in solidarity with Shannon and because of this woman and how she was screaming at the man like he was an insect beneath her feet.
I expected him to be upset (not only was I upset, but I jumped and tensed up when she honked, and had to take extra muscle relaxers when I got home) . He was pleasant to her, returned to the rest of us, ASAP, and was also pleasant, still smiling, and apologetic to us. Though he had nothing to apologize for. His customer service skills are exemplary! You have a great employee there! I hope you recognize and reward that!
