When I arrived, Gabe greeted me with a smile and quickly helped another customer who had been walking up at the same time with some oil so he could begin to process my order. Reannan noticed and was quick to be of assistance and ask my name and began to take care of the order herself. I could have been in and out in 2 minutes or less, but instead I had a wonderful conversation with the staff. All in all I felt very well taken care of and valued. I used to shop at "the store that shall not be named" but I will be returning in the future as a happy customer to advanced auto parts!

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
