I’ll keep this confidential as far as names and companies. My company has a lease agreement with Penske Truck Rental commercial. I was involved in an accident. No fault of my own, and long story short, the other guy was totally at fault. My semi was towed away to Penske for repairs. I contacted them and initially a loaner was set up for me. In past dealings you have to specify that this vehicle will be working. Pulling actual weight and real loads. I say this because I was given a loaner once and had to return it because it wasn’t road ready. Blown suspensions airbag, nails in the drive tires and steer tires. Said vehicles are supposed to be checked throughly before being released to the company. And I’m here to tell you that’s not always the case. I came in after a few days because of the weekend. I was informed that the truck that I signed for was taken. I wasn’t called or notified about this. I’m irritated at this point because obviously the truck that we needed is gone. But I chalked that up as my fault for thinking I can go get it when I had extra time. Not the case, go get the vehicle when they inform you that they have one. And do a full pre trip inspection. I was also irritated by the rental guy that kept repeating “saying this to say”. Idk if he was nervous or he liked this saying. He was of no help, he didn’t know how to use their own system to look up any information. He asked me my name and company name 7 times or more. I finally wrote my name down and my company to help the poor fella out. He finally gets me all squared away for any incoming vehicles. That was Wednesday, so today rolls around. I was being impatient so I call the rental department. The same young guy that I had dealings with in person at the store answers the phone. I ask are there any loaner trucks available?. He replied oh yeah I have one. And I replied well why didn’t you call me. He says he didn’t have my number. I asked him to pull up the prior rental agreement and see what phone number he had on file. Wouldn’t you know it they had our number. Now I’m really frustrated at this point because zippidy do da has no interest in helping. At this point I’m like let’s book it. I tell him I’ll be there at 5 to pick up the semi. I arrive and do the paperwork, I go out to the vehicle and do my inspection. I found two nails in the passenger side front dual drive tires and the Radiator fluid was low. The rental person hands me the keys. I go out and try to start the truck, the keys don’t work. They hand me another set and the keys don’t work. They go to the back of the building and come out with two service guys. One is lazy and has no interest in doing anything at all, and the other was trying to help but not really if that makes sense. They try the keys, well turns out that the lazy one just brought the truck in from the previous customer. He said you have to insert the key jiggle it and play with the ignition to get it to start. I’m sure the look on my face wasn’t pleasant. But I was tired and wanted to get out of there so that I could get this heap to our yard. I’ll figure it out tomorrow. When driving the truck to our yard I discover the heat is stuck on, the temp is reading 104 outside. This truck is not road ready what so ever.

If you run a real business, do yourself a favor and stay as far away from the Penske Oklahoma City location as possible. I own and operate a professional moving company. My entire business relies on reliable commercial fleet vehicles and trustworthy partner support. How Penske treats their corporate accounts is a complete embarrassment. I put up with weeks of utter neglect, pure incompetence, and zero leadership from this shop before writing this, but their latest stunt crossed every line. Here is a breakdown of what you can expect if you do business with them: Leaky, Unsafe Fleet: I have literally never received a truck from this shop that didn't leak. When your entire livelihood depends on keeping customers' personal belongings dry and safe, handing over leaky trucks isn't just sloppy—it’s unacceptable negligence. Empty Promises & Horrific Communication: Good luck getting straight answers or functional customer service. They will promise you commercial discounts to earn your business, fail to honor them, and then ghost you when you try to get clarification. Communication is practically non-existent until they mess up. Predatory and Unprofessional Billing: After radio silence and zero billing for SIX WEEKS, I got a call out of nowhere at 5:00 PM on a weekday demanding an immediate payment of over $6,000. No invoice head-up, no warning—just an urgent demand for thousands of dollars to fix their own administrative failure. Extortionate Sales Tactics: To make matters worse, the employee on the phone explicitly told me that his manager would not let him go home until I paid the $6,000 balance on the spot. Using your own employees as leverage to pressure a business client into covering for your 6-week accounting oversight is appalling, manipulative management. This OKC location has terrible reviews for a reason: there is zero leadership and a total lack of accountability at the top. They do not care about keeping your business running, they do not maintain their equipment, and they run their office like an amateur circus. Save your business the headache, protect your cargo, and take your commercial accounts anywhere else. Penske OKC is an absolute disaster.
