Mays' Towing serves the greater Warren, Ohio metro area, and offers towing for private and commercial vehicles. Our trucks are radio-dispatched and we offer reasonable rates. We understand the hassle that comes from needing a tow truck and our staff
Understand why their rating is so low. Unfortunately our vehicle was towed by them after an accident that happened three hours prior, and they kept our truck hostage. Refused to give us access because we didn’t have proof of ownership on us, because it’s inside the truck. Forced us to go to the BMV to get the registration, again, after spending several hours in the hospital. Fiancé said “Jesus” on his way out of the building and the guy threatened to charge us with trespassing if we came back with that attitude. Tried to explain that our other truck was wrecked a year ago and we didn’t have these kinds of issues then, and then he told me that if I showed up on the property again he would arrest me for trespassing. Even after I explained my fiancé can’t drive himself around today because of the accident and he reiterated if he sees me he’ll call the police. I’m 5’4” and 4 months pregnant so not sure why he felt the need to harass us and threaten us with police action. Fiancé said he had a completely different tone when he showed up with the paperwork and our claim number for insurance. Thankfully the tow truck guy was very nice and helpful to my fiancé, even helped him carry his belongings around the block since he only had one usable hand and I wasn’t allowed on the property.

This place is a joke. First & foremost customer service is beyond terrible , they’re lazy and do things when they feel like it ! this is a private owned company that will rape your pockets just cause they know they are the main towing company in the Warren area. I had a dirt bike in impound they charged me 1000$ to get it back in less than 24hrs & they also lie about how much they charge you a day for your vehicle being there so listen carefully to what they say … I only gave a star cause they wouldn’t let me give my review with NO STARS Very Terrible company call Macho Man or Underwood towing for service ‼️‼️‼️

Saturday - Vehicle was towed and impounded per police order. Tow fee and weekend payment charge totaled $266.88 payable only by cash. Payment was made and a handwritten receipt was provided. Attempted to retrieve vehicle from police custody on the same day, but was informed of another $150 after-hours fee. It was cheaper to wait until Monday, lot fees included. None of this is the issue.
Monday - I attempted to make payments with the police station, to be informed that I had not paid my May's Towing bill. I called the tow yard and was met over the phone by a man who absolutely denied that I ever paid, because he was not there that weekend, and he is the manager. I attempted to ask if there was an un-filed location where overnight payments might be stored until the business day. I was not able to ask because I was cut off several times. I attempted to ask if there was anyone that could corroborate the payment, but again, I was interrupted and spoken over until I hung up.
I arranged travel as my vehicle is impounded and I was able to secure the receipt, handle my business, and release my vehicle from police custody.
$266.88 is far too hefty of a sum for a business to lose track of or to go missing, there are several solutions.
Have a drop box where your staff can leave receipts for the day shift to file and enter into your system if that is what is necessary.
Have a location where all physical copies of receipts are stored after being entered into the system, where employees can account and recall payments.
Let the person paying the bill have an opportunity to speak to you, instead of corralling them off the phone as quick as possible.
Seems highly likely to me that the business was banking on me not having my receipt, and coughing up another payment.
Also, the business should have disclosed a $75 after hours fee before I made my purchase. Perhaps this could have just been handled Monday all at once, rather than working around the business' disorganization.
If you can, call Emerine's.
And to reiterate, the issue is not that I left my receipt at home, this issue is the abysmal customer service.

Their customers service is trash, very rude, and unreasonable. i would never have my vechile towed by them as they will charge you and astronomical fee. I would definitely look into other options before spend any money with they as they are Tow-truck butchers.
