- KWKen WMay 3, 20265.0Had a great experience with my Dayton, OH rental. Price was low; pick up and return area is right across from the airport’s main entrance; Alamo’s website allowed me to enter all my info ahead of time so I could just grab an SUV and go. Return took less than a minute.

- SLSean LockhartApr 10, 20262.0Overall, the experience was two stars. The staffer at the airport was as helpful as he could be, and shares no blame for the situation I had. Those staffers will absolutely try to help you as best they can. I had a situation dumped in my lap with extremely short notice that required a rental car during a competition weekend, and since I was getting in late, rentals were scarce. Avis had nothing and wouldn’t let me attempt a reservation, but Alamo’s system allowed a reservation to go through. As such, I believed I’d have a car ready. After getting to the counter, the staffer told me there was nothing available and that I’d have to try in the morning. To Alamo’s credit, this staffer arranged to cover Uber costs to and from the hotel I was now having to stay in, again with short availability citywide. However, Alamo should have offered to cover the hotel as well; I’m guessing that staffer didn’t have that authority. I ended up getting home the next day once a car was returned. Overall, my experience was negative, but in no way was it the fault of the company staff. Rather, the overall fault lies in how Alamo’s online system is engineered.
