  Made reservation on 2/10/26 for a van rental for seven days for 6/27/26, called two weeks before 6/27 and requested to pick up the van a few hours earlier & the call p center said it would be no problem, arranged to pick up at 9pm. I received a call on pick up day at 7:30pm stating that they had no vans or vehicles that large. We were supposed to be leaving at 3 AM for a vacation in which we needed the van to take our family. I was able to cancel the vans insurance from Expedia that I eventually received about a week later. I was able to call around and get on Alamo‘s website because they seem to be the only option from the Dayton airport. The Columbus location had a van available but was a couple hundred dollars more. Called the call center who told us that there were SUVs available at the location so I made a new reservation for a larger SUV and a smaller SUV, using two vehicles instead of the one van at this point. To pick up the two SUVs and they tell me the larger SUV was not available. Ended up having two smaller SUVs and had to drive separately with our family. It ended up working out but no thanks to this company. Drop off was a fine experience, the people working were friendly. The car itself had been smoked in and flared my allergies in the heatwave we had.

  Unfriendly manager did not honored my reservation price done through Travelocity due to a lack of a "price breakdown" for him to understand the difference. He recommended that I should rent directly from the Alamo website. However, I was looking to rent by location as opposed to a particular rental company. At the desk, I provided all my contact information, rental reservation agreement number and all the details provided by Travelocity. It still wasn't enough to satisfy the Alamo manager. At this point, my money, energy, attention, and time are better spent elsewhere.

  I just recently rented a vehicle through Alamo at Dayton Intl. The experience was seamless. Associate was immediately responsive as I approached the kiosk. She was extremely accommodating and had me on my way asap.

  Dayton airport staff was excellent for check out and return. Very fast, informative, professional service.

  Avis failed me when I showed up with my reservation and they said they had no cars left. Alamo and Dan to the rescue. Alamo needs to give Dan a raise.
