  Pleased with the replacement of my windshield

  I needed a windshield replacement and they could do it the same day. I tried to make the appointment online and couldn’t select OEM glass. I couldn’t get ahold of the shop through Safelite’s automated system. I had to drive over. The salesman was able to get it swapped to OEM and made my appointment for 6 days later on Thursday. We discussed OEM wasn’t covered by insurance so I agreed to pay the extra for it. As far as I know the glass was ordered. Wednesday morning the shop manager calls me to confirm again my appointment for the following day. Well 30 minutes later I get another call from a different Safelite number. This parts guy explains he has good news and the OEM glass would be covered but the part wasn’t ordered till Tuesday night. I thought I ordered it the previous Friday. He was unable to tell me if the part was ordered on Tuesday or Wednesday and kept changing the story. Regardless I was looking at 5-10 business days for glass. I told him to keep the appointment and I would call the manager from earlier. The manager number isn’t available. I have to navigate the automated system which isn’t possible to reach the local shop. I call my insurance to confirm cost, they aren’t able to see the claim as processed and they are confused because OEM glass isn’t covered. So I call back the parts number and get a different representative. Second representative tells me the first guy CANCELLED MY ORDER. After this I was over safelite. I called King’s auto glass and talked to a person immediately. They helped me navigate and swap over my insurance claim info. After getting set up King’s told me they could not source OEM glass and that was why Safelite likely cancelled the day prior. Why could Safelite not tell me this? Would they just keep cancelling my appointment the day prior? It felt like a scam
