Update:
Your response is misleading and does not reflect what actually happened.
First, I was not in “multiple conversations” with your team. I called repeatedly for nearly 4 weeks sales, managers, and front desk with no response. The only time I finally received a call back was after I left a review. That is a fact.
Second, the reimbursement you’re referring to was not proactively offered as “goodwill.” It only came up after I had already paid $1,878.41 out of pocket and after I pushed for answers. More importantly, I was told the reimbursement would be sent if I removed my review, which speaks for itself.
Third, the title issue was not just a normal interstate delay. The mileage on the title was incorrect due to your dealership’s error, which made the vehicle impossible to register. That is not a processing delay that is a documentation mistake.
Also, your statement about state inspection differences is not accurate in this case. Ohio actually has stricter tint laws than Maryland, yet the vehicle still had illegal tint. On top of that, this truck was sold as Toyota Certified, which should have caught worn tires and condition issues regardless of state inspection standards. These are basic items not technicalities.
Additionally, I contacted Toyota corporate three separate times, and they reached out to your dealership on my behalf. Even with manufacturer involvement, there was still no response from your team until after my review was posted.
Lastly, I was explicitly told by someone in your dealership to drive the vehicle without tags and that fines would be covered. Whether you now want to distance yourselves from that statement or not, that is exactly what I was told.
This situation was not about out-of-state inspection differences. It was about:
* Selling a vehicle with issues that immediately cost me money
* Providing incorrect legal documentation
* Failing to respond for weeks—even after manufacturer involvement
* Then attempting to control the narrative after a public review
I’m sharing my experience so others can make an informed decision.
—————————————————————-
Absolutely terrible experience. This dealership sold me an Ohio-inspected, Toyota Certified vehicle that immediately failed Maryland inspection illegal tint and all four tires were bad. I had to spend $1,878.41 out of pocket to fix their issues.
On top of that, they gave me a title with the WRONG mileage, making it impossible to register the vehicle. I called for 4 weeks straight sales, managers, front desk and was completely ignored.
When I finally got someone, they told me to drive the truck without tags and they would cover the fines. That’s reckless and completely unacceptable.
They also never reimbursed the $105.22 overnight fee they promised.
This dealership is dishonest, unresponsive, and takes zero responsibility. Stay far away.
