An appointment for a manufacturer recall on my Hyundai Sonata was made for 4/15. At 8:12 am it was dropped off. I explained to Dalton, the Service Advisor, I needed to pick it up for a 2 pm appointment. I was advised that was within the 4 hour window it could take for the anti-theft recall to be completed. The "new system" would notify me when it was ready.
As the personal 2 pm appointment time neared, I had not received notice or a phone call the car was ready. I had to cancel. At 2:30 pm, I finally called the number made available through the automated system notification. It was an AI "representative" taking my call who was to leave notice with Dalton to call me. I also had a text option I used to try to get in touch with him. About 30 minutes later, Dalton called me. "Unfortunately, the part received was defective (a crack in the steel plate) and you'll have to come back for another appointment. For your inconvenience, I'll fill up your tank with fuel." Dalton assured me he would be the one to call me to reschedule that appointment when the new part arrived. I received a text the next day (16th) the part had come in.
I did not receive a call from Dalton for a new appointment Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday the following week. On Thursday, I called to speak to him. Again, I had to leave a message with the AI "representative" for a voice return call. Again, I left a text message per the AI channel. I did not hear back on Thursday. On Friday, I sent a second text asking for a call to schedule the appointment. I finally got a response "Are you available next Tuesday (28th) to drop it off to me?" I responded I was around noon. I did not received an answer back.
On Monday, the 27th I texted Dalton yet again. This time with a correction of my availability between 11-11:30 on Tuesday, asking for a confirmation for me to do so. I did not hear one word back from Dalton.
On Tuesday, the 28th, around 11:15 am, I took my car to Service. I walked in asking to speak with the Service Manager. I was met by Zoe asking me to explain what was going on. I explained citing all of the references noted here and stated that I was not happy with how my situation has been handed.
Zoe asked if my car was available to be worked on today. I said it was. She called Parts and verified my part was in as per my notification. She immediately brought my car into the Service bay door, assigned a Service Tech to do the work, explained that the recall would be taken care of today before end of day. She also said she would make sure my car was filled with gas as I was promised and that she would personally call me when my car was done.
At 2:30 pm, I received the call from Zoe that it was ready for pickup. Upon arrival, she printed a copy of the work order, personally escorted me to my car, removed the service tag, the seat cover and floor mat used to keep my car clean and said the tank was full of fuel. I verified and it was.
I gave this review a 3 star because Zoe actually saved the day. Had it not been for the professional manner in which she treated me (acknowledgement of the problem, addressing the situation swiftly, fulfilling the previous Service Advisor's promise), I would have not been as generous. Zoe is an example of how every customer should be handled from the moment they enter the Service Department through the time the vehicle is picked up by the customer.
Lastly, the "new system" used to track work, provide the customer with details during the work and offer hands on personal service with the Advisor/Team needs lots of improvement. While the goal may be personal customer service, it falls short when the Advisor/Team doesn't respond to the customer in a timely manner. Glitches need to be worked out as I received notification my car was ready for pickup one week AFTER my first appointment on the 15th. I received that same notification multiple times throughout that week. It was very annoying.

I've waited 3 months for a charge cord that they require I buy because it was included in the vehicle package. A detailer stole the charging cord and I don't live in the area so they said they would overnight it to me. I've randomly called and text my salesperson and the dealership but only recieve a response when they needed something. I decided to help them because Hyundai finance never sent me a title and after many attempts, they also wouldn't send me or the dealer a special form so they could sell my old vehicle. Overall, great dealer, Brian was a great salesperson, but don't expect anything once the deal has been made. Its a shame I cant add pictures of proof for contact attempts.
