  The location in Urbana forgot to hook my air filter box back up and sensors on my hybrid. I got the check engine light after driving for one hour. Terrible. Thankfully the location in Sandusky was very friendly and they connected it back together for me in just 2 minutes.

  I've patronized Valvoline for years and there's a reason I keep going back. Good people and good service. I was in a sour mood when I arrived today, but the chatty charm of Carson and Christian totally changed my tune. They were both fun to talk with while they took care of the car. Highly recommended.

  With my first experience going to this location I was a little caught off guard by the price of an oil change and decided to pass on getting an oil change. However, after doing some research and comparing other lube shops in the area I have since returned to the same excellent customer service that i experienced the first time. Their pricing is in fact very fair. Whether you talk to these guys on the phone or show up in person to have service done the customer service is top tier. Their staff make the experience a good one. I will more than likely return for my next oil change

  Set Stage. Valvoline on Milan in Sandusky. Hot and sunny afternoon but with a good breeze. Manager/ Viking blacksmith Brian waves me in to bay 1. Are we getting an oil change or sieging a foreign wintry village? Calm voice. No nonsense. Questions asked with no pressure. Oil. Air. Tires. Lights. Politely asking "may I reach Into your vehicle". This is for my own good. I am a sheep gone astray and he, the shepherd knowing how to turn on my headlights. Oh no! The driver side license plate bulb is burned out. The absolute horror! May we replace it for you for a few dollars? "Yes, a thousand times yes!". Enter: Carson. Young man whose knowledge of vehicle lights far exceeds what the gods ever intended for humans to know. Confidently disassembling my rear hatch cover while explaining to his fellow vikings the process without missing a beat. Bulb changed. Rear reassembled. Hatch closed. Here is the test. Driver's side license plate light bulb... Aglow like a beacon in the night. But alas, fate is a cruel mistress and chose that moment to punish us for our hubris. Choosing to now burn out the passenger side license plate bulb. Terrified, and unsure of my future costs. Carson roundtables with Brian, the Valvoline chieftain, and explains the problem. "No!!!! Not on my watch! By Odin's name we shall honor our mission and replace that bulb as well.. at NO cost". (Paraphrasing). Carson, with the speed of the gods still on his side, repeats everything he had just done in a manner of minutes. Closing everything back up, and once again, the beacons are lit. Meanwhile, the trickster workers whose names are known only to their mother's and those they trust had been busy working on the other side of the vehicle. Extracting its lubricating fluids with a suction device that would shame a dairy cow. Refilled, sealed up, and good to go. While their gloved hands prevented any meaningful high five of victory, instead triumphant fist bumps of glory finalized our pact. There were no tears. No sunset to ride off into. Just an understanding that work needed to be done, and they were the perfect men for the job.
