- MKMaggie KolomiyetsJun 17, 20265.0Battery light came on in our car so we drove it to Advance Auto Parts to get the system tested. Their test showed that it was a problem with the alternator, so we purchased a new alternator from the store. After purchasing the new alternator, the general manager (Jason) told us to return with the old alternator after we replaced it. He wanted to see if there was any sign that the old alternator was purchased from them and possibly give us a break on the cost of the new one. Following his instructions, we returned the old alternator to the store and Jason was indeed able to help us. Overall, Jason and his fellow employees treated us kindly and professionally and helped to make a stressful situation much easier.

What are the signs of a bad car battery?
Signs of a bad car battery can range from the need for frequent jump starts, slow to start, cranks or clicks but won't start, dash lights work but the vehicle won't start, etc.
How much does a car battery cost?
A traditional lead/acid car battery can range between $60-$120. HOW DO BRAKES WORK?

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
