We've been using Mound City as our go-to tire/repair place for years, finally thought I'd write a review. Service has ALWAYS been high quality, fast, affordable, and friendly. We've several times needed urgent help and they have gone out of their way to fit us in. They've several times worked to salvage a tire or do a repair when it would have probably been easier/more profitable for them to just charge us for a new part. I always thought of tire/repair shops as mostly interchangeable, but now I can't imagine trusting anywhere else. Strongly strongly recommended.

The first time I had brought my car in I was extremely impressed with their service. It was last minute as I was loosing air in one of my tires and hoped it could be repaired so that I didn't have to buy a new tire. They were quick, courteous, and well priced. All that being said, I recently had them look at my car again as it would not start. This time I was not impressed with the service. I work nearby their shop and had only asked that they tow the car and diagnose the issue. Since it happened so late in the day the car wasn't towed till end of day (understandably) and I was told that it would be looked at first thing in the morning. The next morning I waited a few hours after opening to call and inquire about my car, and was told they were currently looking at it. Walked over there during my lunch as I still had not heard and was told I would learn what they found soon but no definite ETA. At this point it had been nearly five hours since my initial call. When they finally did call me to tell me the issue I'd learned that they had preformed a service to my car that I was not notified of nor consented to. I did not appreciate the tone in which they explained the issue to me and furthermore felt that they had not found the entire issue but rather found something and stopped. When I came to pick my car I requested a detailed diagnosis but did not receive one and ended having to pay more than I would have liked considering the service they preformed is something I can do myself. Despite all of this the car is still experiencing issues and I will be getting a second opinion.

Eric was amazing to work with. Very polite and professional. He not only fixed my issue, but found another concern and addressed that. Highly recommend and will go back for other service needs!

I brought my car in for a brake noise, and they quoted a massive job: all new pads and rotors, rear calipers, and rear brake hoses due to a 'leak.' I took the car to my out-of-town mechanic for a second opinion, and the reality was very different. My front pads and rotors were completely fine (pads only 50-60% worn). The rear rotors were worn but serviceable, and the noise wasn't from a leak—it was just a stiff bracket that needed cleaning and lubrication. The calipers were also in good shape. While I understand a misdiagnosis can happen, claiming that parts with 60% life left need replacing is disappointing. Most people wouldn't know to double-check and would have wasted a lot of money. The only bright spot was that they did catch a screw in my front tire, which I appreciated. Use caution and get a second opinion here.
