  I did not get service here, but was hung up on the phone by the representative on 7/8/2026. Backtracking, I called on 7/7/2026 around 4:30PM EST to inquire about a transmission filter and fluid change on my 2018 F150. The person that answered the phone said that the store manager had already left for the day. This person gave me a rough estimate of around $80. I replied that that seemed a bit low. I am a life long mechanic and do almost all my own vehicle maintenance, but have been very pressed on time lately and decided this was a job I should pay for. The person on the phone agreed that the price seemed low and recommended that I call back the next day and talk to the store manager. On 7/8/2026, I called this branch back on my way home from work as recommended by the person I talked to on 7/7/2026. I can only presume that who I talked to was the store manager. I proceeded to ask for an estimate for a transmission fluid and filter change. The representative then proceeded to ask why. I explained that I was trying to be proactive as my truck has $135K miles, I bought it with 92K miles and have no idea what the service history on my transmission has been. The representative then said that they really don't do service much, but mainly rebuilds and pressed me on the condition of my transmission and what symptoms I was having. I commented that I didn't understand why a transmission shop could not simply provide an estimate on a filter and fluid change and this representative proceeded to tell me that I "would not let him finish", and then when I tried to talk, I heard him in the background degrading me to a presumed fellow Brownie's IT employee, as I heard him say something to the effect of "this guy doesn't even know how these things function". I heard this, on the phone, while trying to talk to a Brownie's IT representative. This representative then subsequently hung up the phone on me as I was trying to resurrect the conversation. Absolutely unacceptable. As a side note, I then called the Brownies IT location in Kettering on Dorothy Lane and was provided with an estimate with absolutely zero drama. Kudos to the Brownie's IT on Dorothy Lane. Brownies IT- There is no Corporate location listed on your website to be able to lodge complains, but this situation is unacceptable from a Customer Service perspective and I have not other recourse other that a Google Review to relay my experience.

  They were my 2nd opinion; and great and behold. I didn’t need to rebuild the transmission as I had been advised from the 1st shop. They found the problem and corrected it. I would recommend giving them a chance to save you money as they did me. Bless and prosperity to Brownies.

  I drove my 2008 Lexus IS 250 6speed Manual Rear wheel drive I know that the transmission needs rebuilt I rather rebuild it he said 725$ to drop the transmission dawn And check it And it will be Going towards the repair bill I’m like ok 4 days later he said The transmission is down And the clutch need to be Changed And he was gonna swap the transmission with a different one that’s already been rebuilt And the total place was $5300 Now, if I wanna swap the tranny I would’ve done it I needed a rebuilt On top of that The Mechanic make a mistake and punch a hole On my old pan And somehow, I wind up paying for it $193 Remember, I drove the car over there I didn’t have any oil leak Next time they need to Google the year and the model and see if they can rebuild the transmission before they put it down instead of taking people’s money
