One star is generous.I will never use Gerber Collision and Repair again after the way I was treated by Valerie at the front desk.
I came in simply trying to understand the hail damage repair process and thought I needed an estimate first to see what the damage would cost. Instead of explaining it professionally, Valerie was dismissive, condescending, and spoke to me like I was stupid for asking questions. She repeatedly said, “I don’t understand what you are doing here?!” Instead of politely informing me that I don’t need an estimate because my insurance company already surveyed the damages.
On top of that, she seemed completely overwhelmed because I already had a repair scheduled for July- which I did on the same day I scheduled the estimate. The repair however somehow “wasn’t on the books.” The entire interaction was frustrating, unorganized, and unnecessarily rude. Seems to me that this hail storm has brought in a lot of business and with the insurance claims, Gerber has a large amount of revenue coming in at the moment. So maybe they feel justified treating potential customers disrespectfully?
I left aggravated and immediately decided Gerber will never get my business. I ended up scheduling with Serpentini Chevrolet instead, where the receptionist was actually pleasant, helpful, and able to get me in much sooner.
Customer service matters. Treating people with basic respect matters. Gerber failed at both.
Scheduling online service, booked appt, I called to confirm if drop offs were available. Only to be told after receiving a txt confirm said appt that, it was invalid w out explanation an shown zero empathy because they were extremely busy. Well treating ppl poorly during a disaster is a clear sign of bad management.

I strongly advise against using Gerber Collision in Mayfield. Despite receiving weekly emails stating that our car would be ready 'that Friday,' it took them 2 months to complete the repairs. The initial claim was that the bracket for the front fender was on national backorder. However, after 7 weeks of inquiries, my husband managed to locate 17 brackets in 5 minutes. Following a phone call and discussion with the repair shop, the vehicle was finally deemed ready today. Notably, we dropped off the car on February 11th. Upon collection this evening, we discovered that the vehicle had accumulated 50 miles, the gas light was on (I never let my vehicles go under 1/4 tank), the car was left unlocked in a parking lot with signs disclaiming responsibility for theft or damage, and, most concerning, the car now shakes when braking.
I had an excellent experience at Gerber Collision in Mayfield Heights, Ohio. I want to specifically recognize Valerie and Jenna for their outstanding customer service.
From the moment I walked in, Valerie went above and beyond to make sure my needs were met. She made the entire process smooth and stress-free, and I truly felt welcomed and taken care of.
Jenna was amazing as well. She was my person of contact. She thoroughly reviewed my vehicle, provided a clear and detailed estimate, and kept me updated every step of the way. Their communication was consistent, and I never felt out of the loop.
Both Valerie and Jenna helped relieve my anxiety and made me feel heard and appreciated throughout the entire process. I also appreciated how seamless everything was — they assisted with arranging my loaner, and I was even able to drop it off directly at Gerber without any hassle.
The turnaround time was impressive — I received my vehicle back in less than a week, and the quality of the repair was excellent.
I truly received top-notch service at this location. Hopefully I won’t need their services again, but if I do, I would absolutely return without hesitation. Added before and after photos. BMW x3 2026
