  I took my bronco to Tuffy for a grinding sound in my transmission. I diagnosed the problem in 15 mins and knew it was synchronizer rings. Tuffys decided to replace my clutch instead. It was a warranty job so I was fine with it as long as it fixed the problem. Well I got my truck back and it didn’t grind for a day or two but did start grinding again. I took it back and told them I’d be on vacation for a week so they had plenty of time to figure it out. My car sat from Friday till Wednesday. I never heard anything from the shop. I called and they said they drove it several times and didn’t hear anything. I took a screen shot of the current miles. (61.750) i told them to drive it more. I thought it was funny I filled my gas tank before I took the hour drive to get there and Wednesday I still had 91% fuel. So I gave it from Wednesday to Saturday. I noticed my truck did get one mile put on it! It still had (61.750) I called and got Jeff who I had been dealing with the whole time. He said they drove it and it was fine. So the manager just lied to me and said they are test driving my car when they where not. I confronted him about it and he said Wednesday was the last day they drove it. But I talked to him Wednesday at 8:10 am and it did not move since. he personally told me they where going to drive it more. He came up with the excuse one of the techs moved it and he thought it was driven. Does he not get reports from his techs on how test drives went? So I’ll be getting ahold of corporate on this matter. One thing a mechanic should never do is break a customer’s trust. I was lied to by the manager. Do not trust this place! As far as I know they only put 12 miles on my car for the 12 days they had it!

  I had an expensive repair for transmission lines and a pump and Jeff and his team took exceptional care of me. They gave fair pricing with discounts. The work was done in a timely matter. They communicated well each step of the process and made sure we understood what was being done and the value compared to the longevity of the car. I did not expect such wonderful service from a chain. It was like a family-owned shop.

  I have only been here a couple of times but I have had such a nice experience every time. I love the virtual check off system complete with pictures. Always had a helpful person working so thank you so much.

  Heard a growling sound coming from underneath my car so figured I had an exhaust issue. Happened to be driving by thisTuffy location in Lewis Centre so stopped in. I explained that the car had 165,000 miles on it. I did not want to put too much money into it. They seemed to understand and said they would take a look and thought they might be able to affect an inexpensive repair. Shortly thereafter I get a text with a quote for over $4000 to replace the exhaust system! No call, no explanation just dropped an estimate on me via text. I declined it and never heard anything further. I called the next day and asked if my car was available for pick up. They indicated that it was.. Again, no discussion regarding the quote. I spoke to a friend who suggested taking it to Mad Hatter muffler as the price I was being quoted was exorbitant. I took it to Mad Hatter and they completed the work in 45 minutes for cost of $250! The staff at this Tuffy site should be ashamed. The most important element of working with the mechanic is trust. Not technical skill, not how quickly they turn the car around to you, not how pretty the garage is. Trust. You can’t trust this location of Tuffy muffler.
